I don't tbink Bass has set the world on fire at AFL level.

He took an AFL system to his SANFL club and had success.

If he was in demand as an assistant he would have stayed in Melbourne.

Also wasn't Lade effectively sacked by Richmond. Same scenario. You don't move back to SA as a first choice.

Afterall when was the last time we had a truly great Assistant Coach who was first an Assistant in Victoria?

Hawks did the same didn't they? Corralled the ball winner. With the HTB interpretations its probably the easiest way to win possession.
You're probably right.

Why Clarko wasn't so concerned about contested disposals. Let some other mug do the hard work then force a turnover when he shits himself seeing a wall of brown and yellow.

Not sure where else to put this

Have noticed about half dozen OAK iced coffee adverts in bus shelters around Melbourne with Travis Boak in a full Port Adelaide kit flogging them

Oak are a Port sponsor, yeah? Guess not that unusual and they're probably everywhere in Adelaide ? But rather unusual to see Port marketing in Melbourne
sounds like a great way to lower demand for OAK

I think we should have a crack at getting Skipworth back to SA. I like how Essendon are going about it at the moment.

oh come on if you're going to argue then at least be realistic, there is both opportunity and clear benefit for Geelong to host certain home games at the MCG; interstate teams have neither the opportunity nor benefit. apples/oranges.

Understood. It just seriously irks me that a select few sides have enjoyed the benefit of not having to ever play Geelong in Geelong. They're a much better side there.

It's not ridiculous at all. What would be ridiculous is playing Geelong vs Collingwood at that Siberian wasteland and having thirty thousand extra people who can't fit in. There'd be a mutiny, and rightly so.
It's not "unequal" to source a bigger ground for those times you would otherwise overspill your home - and you can guarantee the Cats enjoy the extra ticket sales and the extra practice at the G. Fans win, club wins. I have no problem with it.

Collingwood fans barely venture to Etihad fir their own home games. Are there really going to be thousands locked out of Kardinia?

True.
Although what do they say about to be the best you've gotta beat the best blah blah...

Unless you're Bulldogs of course and can just magically avoid your bogey team in finals

Yeah I saw those as well. Strange considering no one gives a flying **** about Port Adelaide here
Port try and market themselves interstate but then one of their fans throws a banana, hassles a bulldogs kid or gets in the face of a coach post match. The port supporterbase is the clubs biggest Achilles heel. Time and time again they embarrass the club on the national stage. You are what you are and they have an element (not all) that have crawled out of the sewer. I was fortunate enough to be in the Mall a few years ago to witness the start of the march. It was disturbing.

Is he trying to fit in?

Alex Rance is the best defender in the game right now but is he the best full-back of all-time?

Barring injury he will be an All-Australian for the fourth year in a row in a career that is becoming truly phenomenal.

He is clearly the best defender in the game but is he the best full-back ever?

This year, like many before, he has showcased his entire arsenal of defensive abilities.

He ranks first in spoils for defenders, second in intercept marks (to Jake Lever, often zoning off inferior opponents), has the most intercept possessions and the second-best kick rating.

Yeah it's not like Bassett hasn't improved Ports defence much. As soon as Kern started listening their defence has gone from shit to one of the best in the comp.
Is it?

How many goals did Patton, Tex and Kennedy kick on them?

And a blemish free complexion from all the baths the Adelaide forwards have given him over the years

His Prictorian/Richmond boner is embarrassing sometimes...

Hombsch didn't play against us or GWS and he's their best defender.

Kennedy kicked 2.

Their defence has clearly improved, trying to downplay it is only showing Crows bias.

It seems Floghard Road has been doing exactly that lately. Seems to be taking his role in China a little too preciously, just because Kochie isn't doing everything he wants.

No Norwood bias?
