I love how obsessed Port fans are with our AAMI lease, often saying it's worth $2M/year that we are taking from the SANFL. And for some reason think it should be on our books. Yet I doubt any of them know what port pays to the council for their land.

A St Kilda backline with Brown and Carlisle looks a hell of a lot stronger this year. And their forward line is multi-pronged now. I know a lot think that the Demons will be big improvers this year but the Saints have a much stronger and experienced spine.

At the very worst he's a tall defender. They may go in with just Carlisle once the real stuff starts, but he at least gives them a second option for a reasonably capable shut down tall defender.

Must be difficult to put together a good side, when you have a team nearly full of 1st round picks.

Mind you now GWS are a force, SOS is more use at Carlton as they will be getting early draft picks for the foreseeable future.

Speaking of being stuck with a dud coach, I've seen a number of posters saying that clubs receiving AFL aid can no longer sack coaches mid contract. Is that really a rule now?

With the huge tax on overspending, very few clubs, funded or not, could afford to sack a coach mid-contract.

What happened to that Carlton clown that spent so much time on here in the pre-season letting us know what a great list they now had and that they were finals bound? I watched a bit of both Carlton's pre-season games so far and----ughhh! They'll be lucky to avoid the spoon this year, even with megastar Gibbs up and firing on all one cylinder.

It's all pre season that's purely speculation.

Not saying Carlton won't be crap this year and Port aren't likely to make finals but any pre season form is pretty much worthless.

For me seeing how brutal St Kilda have been with the running game reminded me of Port in 2013, I wonder why
