I'm not allowed to correct someone who is objectively wrong?

And a player from my team is favourite for this award in a year where there's going to be very little else going my team's way. So I'm following it pretty closely, what does it matter to you?
The hysterical and lengthy responses re burton are boring and tiresome. You are killing this thread with your constant attack on anyone who has the 'gall' to point out that burton is not perfect.

Burton is a good young player and is rightly the RS favourite, but he is not the messiah and he does have deficiencies like all young players.

And yes, I still believe he has a long way to go as a 1 on 1 defender BUT he has neat skills, is an excellent decision maker and will hopefully have a long AFL career.

Please don't feel the need to reply..everyone on this board knows your opinion.

Don't see why this needs to be another pissing contest as both youngsters look like they will become star players.
Yep. Unfortunately this entire thread has degenerated into a giant pissing contest. McGrath plays well, Bomber fans flood the thread. Burton plays well and hawks fans do the same. Rinse and repeat for SPP. On the odd occasion some unbias and interesting dialogue gets entered into then it makes for good reading..... that is becoming rarer and rarer. Same posters. Same drivel.

I'm hysterical? Says the one claiming I'm "attacking" people and "killing this thread". Helen Lovejoy much?

The only thing "killing" this thread is people constantly taking the discussion away from the award and the players involved to pass comment on other posters posting habits and motivations. If you don't like what a poster is saying then just put them on ignore.

Please, please, for the sake of this thread.... take your own advice!!!

Why? I'm quite enjoying this to and fro. I'm all like "How 'bout that Burton?" ;) and you're all like "Stop talking about Burton"

Its been like that for a while. I feel all 3 would deserve the award and would kill for any of the three to play for Port regardless of whether they won RS.

Didn't get to watch it live but looking at the stats sheet SPP had a really nice game. 12 contested possies and 8 tackles with only 67% game time. He's going to be as good as Wines once he builds his tank.

Burton in the lead with McGrath and Marchbank breathing down his neck.

Marchbank super impressive but probably ssuffers from playing a negating role so limited possessions.

McGrath could take back the lead if pushed into the midfield in the second half of the season.

With Sicily moved to the back end and both Frawley and stratton still to come back in seems like Burton is going to get his Midfield push sooner rather then later.

Lined up at the bounce a few times on thursday so clarko is giving him a taste.

Wouldn't chuck him at CHF instead and run roughy through the midfield?

The two long goals burton nailed on Thursday were too impressive to not try him up forward surely

His and Hawthorn goal is to turn him into a big bodied midfielder, playing him forward at this point wouldn't help with his development.

SPP and Burton in front now that McGrath has had a few quiet games.

Still anyone's award..next 9 weeks will be interesting.
a few quiet games?

He had a reasonable game on Friday and a good game the previous time he played, against Port. I guess he didn't do a lot bye weekend though...

It's worth noting Hawthorn actually drafted him as a forward. Just an issue of Hawthorn having similar types up forward as well.

I would take a gun forward over a gun mid any day, but hey I have no skin in it
Looks a jet wherever he ends up
He might move there in a few years but right now it would be crucifying him. Our ball movement has been shocking all year and our inside 50 kicks have been shocking. also our forwardline is our strongest zone, we have shocking midfield depth and not much better defense so Those areas need the bolstering first

Just a gun forward in general or a gun key forward?

Great your wallets out for Big Seany D.

Okay he might not win it, but that was a huge debut for a 19yo solo ruckman.

SOSOS to win it.
