13 Charlie constable - We need a genuine inside mid on our list . His height and ability to go forward and kick goals is what has made him the best option at our pick

21 Jordan houlahan - perfect lecras replacement as a medium forward and midfield rotation . He is a high flying mark likened to jeremy Howe and a beautiful kick for goal and going inside 50 .

26 - Tim kelly will play from round 1 if fit and is a plug and play inside mid with pace and class . I think an afl pre season will benefit him greatly .

32 - Charlie ballard - 195cm utility that can play forward back and wing . Great mark over head and a reasonable ground ball contested player for a baby giraffe . He will need a couple of pre seasons but has big upside .

37 Gryan miers - Genuine small pressure forward who can kick bags of goals . He can push through the midfield and has been likened to Luke dahlhaus

69 Luke English - Elite endurance , driven and appetite for the contest Luke English would be a great pick up as a project inside mid . Pick him up before the rookie draft as he will not last to our pick .

3 inside mids of varying development and strengths
2 forwards who have versatility to play up the ground
1 utility with talent to play across the ground in all positions

Looking at all the DFA I can only see us consider Ben Kennedy from Melbourne. 23 yrs old, quick and hard at it small pressure forward / mid.

Melbourne are a strong list wirh mids and smalls, all those years tanking.

Got into a little strife having a beer when he shouldnt have.

But as a free hit he fits a need in an area we are weak in and need depth.

Luke English, the Perth Demons colt?

Think he is draft eligible next year, but not 100% sure.

Predicted draft:

13: Oscar Allen (191cm FWD-MID)
21: Lochie O'Brien (184cm MID)
26: Sam Hayes (203cm RUCK)
32: Jackson Ross (192cm FWD/MID)
37: Zac Bailey (180cm MID)

Would like Meirs but he wont be there at 37.

21 or 26 will be needed.

FTFY. He is a midget. Possible short man syndrome . Don't want.

Interesting article. Says his hero is Sammy mitchel. Wouldn't mind giving him a go with a latish pick especially If he's anything like his brother

Don't want this guys foot skills are beyond putrid .
He makes Priddis look like an elite kick .
He gets heaps of the ball and then turns it over .
Great size and knows how to find it but I would not be surprised if he goes undradted .

I reckon Hayes will be a bust.
If he makes it and that IMO is a big if , he will be a very late bloomer , after he is 25, so he will require a very patient Club.

Not convinced he wants it enough, watched Ben Miller who is 6 cm shorter than Hayes , rip him a new one in the Championships at Subiaco Oval earlier this year.
Miller completely rag dolled him.
Hayes is not a big fan of the Physicality of ruck craft.

Reminds me of Robbie Wornock .... Scary thought .

So has Miller got a bit of mongrel in him?

If he's still available, our first pick has to be Constable, no question.

A genuine inside, big bodied midfielder is exactly what we need.

With the greatest of respect to Hunter clark, yet another half back flanker with "midfield potential" is the last thing we need, we have quite enough of them already.

Same for Oscar Allen as a forward with midfield potential.

We need to draft a true midfielder, and actually play them in the middle.

It may be that that sees him slide past 30. I just think we will take at least one tall (not including Allen).

Why do people think Hunter Clark can actually be turned into a MID, when this club has utterly and repeatedly failed in this HBF-->MID transformation process in the past?

If you had watched him play full games as a mid then you would't be asking that question.

He already is an mid and a very effective one at that.
