Yeah when I was scrolling through and his name popped up, I was like that's a steal at that price. Admittedly I don't know how he is going with his rehab, I would assume he would be in full training by now.

His health has been good for some time. From what I hear they were ultra-conservative with him (and others) last season, probably happy to finish as low as possible and secure the best draft hand that they could. He has spent some time away from the club due to a death in the family however. Not unusual, he has been afforded the opportunity to spend time at home throughout his career and it doesn't seem to have any adverse affect on his fitness. Back at the club and in full training now

You reckon Higgins is a lock on talent alone for the Tigers?

Higgins looks quite promising. We had someone on our forum attend the pre-season camp up in Queensland and he said that Higgins was training with the midfield group and was going head to head with Dusty and not taking a backwards step.
With Rioli unlikely to be rushed back for round 1, I think Higgins will get the round 1 call up, whether he holds his spot is another story.

FWIW he is one of the Richmond players in my team that is on shaky ground as I don't think he will play enough AFL early days. A lot of competition for spots but he has a great attitude so who knows.

Thanks for the update, I did hear about the death in the family. If he is in full training then he is a lock for me. Will easily make another $100-150k on top of his current price.

Can't find anything to criticize about your side mate. Looks solid. Jack Billings is one id be wary about. Consistency is a bit off, and I think that's the highest price he has started a season at.

Can't find anything to criticize about your side mate. Looks solid. Jack Billings is one id be wary about. Consistency is a bit off, and I think that's the highest price he has started a season at.

I'm at an awkward price and need someone in that 200,000-300,000k zone. Went for experience over youth (rayner, stephensen) I'd love to know the details on Bennell. I'm sure I heard he was arrested again just a month or so ago.

The only Hawk (besides that beautiful lock TMitch) worth considering is Cyril, mostly due to his price.

I still have my doubts about Cyril, due to his injury concerns and that his supercoach scores have been on the decline. He is not going to be a midfielder as his hammys probably aren't up to it so realistically he will be a small foward in a mid to low tier team. His price is very attractive though and if fit you would hope he could average 90 as his best 2 seasons he averaged 98 and 99(2011 +2012)I do have him in my team atm but pre season will determine if he stays or not. Kieran lovell or omeara(pre season pending) might be good pickups also.

Something a bit different I knocked together last night. Bit of a strong Richmond flavor that may change as we move closer to the season. I was buoyed by Walters' form last season and think he can become more consistent this year.
Prestia will have a pretty much full pre-season behind him leading into round 1.
Vlastuin showed his scoring potential toward the latter portion of the year.

Rioli is dead ATM and there is no reason to rush him back.
His spot will be one up for grabs for 1 of Bolton and Higgins, and as much as I froth for Bolton, Higgins has more strings to his bow and won't blow up after half a game.
Would be shocked if he isn't playing round 1.

Just on the Hawthorn SC relevance thing - We never really had super premium relevant players, but as a team probably averaged 200-300 points more than our opposition most weeks. It was just an even load of players that all played well. Fond memories of our SC score spread in the 13-15 years, and most players would be on at least 75. Just the way it was. Now we're genuinely rebuilding, so the spread is imbalanced which brings me to my next point :

Titch.

He is a gun, but not a lock in SC this year by any stretch. Career best average for a reason in 2017. Unlimited food in the trough. There'll be added competition and increased improvement across the board at the Hawks (especially in the guts if O'Meara steps in fit R1). I just don't see him as a lock, and have avoided him based on this reasoning. Definitely a wait and see for me.

A great barometer for players under 5 years experience is how they close out a season.

Billings had an injury interrupted 2nd year and missed some games in his 3rd year, completed a full season for the first time in 2017.

He averaged 86.2 for his first 10 games.
He averaged 98.1 for his final 12 games of the season.

St Kilda should win 2-3 more games in 2018 and couple that with Billings strong finish to last year and entering in his 5th season, you have the perfect storm for him to move into that 95-100 average which will see him be a top 6 forward this season.
