They're better off setting up the OL/receivers this year and getting a QB next year anyway. We've seen many a young QB ruined by a poor OL that can't sufficiently protect them

Good point. What's the oline class like?

WR class some have said is the best they have ever seen. Has something for everyone, Slot/Speed. tall possession players. redzone targets. deep threats from the outside.

OL is more dependent on coaching. you can draft a OL top10 and have s**t OL coach and be out of the league in 3 years. or could be 4th round with good coaching and be a all-pro every year.

I can only hope this situation brings about changes to the greed in college football. A highly lucrative sport that the main attraction earn fu** all from. What other sport is this archaic and ******ed?

Zion, now Tua. Some change is happening but these unfortunate incidents will probably have been required to super-charge it forward.

You’re talking rubbish. They even rest players in AFL. They do it in all the soccer leagues. They would do it more in the NFL if they could.
Now your comparing player management to risk of injury. Soccer and AFL rest players due to work load not due to the risk of collision injuries. Yes in AFL you might take your best 1 or 2 players off in the last couple of minutes in a big final to mitigate any chance of injury. But comparing it to the Tua situation is miles off.

The people being critical of Tua being out on the field are all hindsight geniuses. Gotta love the wrap your kids up in cotton wool brigade.

What? They had to change the fixture to put in a bye round before the finals! That’s not minor at all. Tua was in doubt before the game, only been six or so weeks after surgery in a game against a hack college where they intended to play him for half a game regardless to some extent of how far they would be up

Bazz the only one talking sense. 👍

Feels strange to be in agreement with him.
Good to see you’re on the right side of the argument occasionally

You really need to think about what you are comparing to Tua getting a collision injury during a game. You are suggesting that the week off prior to finals is so no players get injured. Maybe if a player is injured in the first week of the finals the AFL should introduce a double bye week in the lead up to prevent that.

Not sure what you’re on about. AFL introduced for that reason. ie it was felt that enough coaches thought that if team is playing for nothing in last round they rest some of the their best players. It happens in the NFL, that’s why fantasy leagues don’t count final week. It’s plain old common sense

But it is done to rest them rather than due to the risk of a collision injury. The same works the other way when coaches want to get game time in to players due to lack of playing.

So why trade tunsil?

Not sure anything beats that first fumble - he just put the ball on the ground

and the ref got pushed over, made it look like he tried to recover it.

What round does Tua fall to? Also lol Bengals

He's still got another year of eligibility.

I wonder whether there's a chance he returns to college if he doesn't look like being able to do anything at the combine. It'll be better for him long term if he can get over the injury and demonstrate that.

I dont think he can claim his insurance payout if he stays another year.

At earliest he is now a late 3rd to a good team looking for a backup.

otherwise would be a day 3 pick.

But its far too early to even guess, no one knows how bad it is. He might never be able to play again if it is a Bo Jackson type break.
