With Bullies losing to the Saints we are effectively 2 games clear despite being in poor form.
Looks like we will stumble into finals... for a week.
We can comfortably say that we aren't peaking too early this seasonand idiots like me will still travel to see them lose

Be sure to pack the 'Sack Burton, Hass and Campo' signs.I will too probably. I love Melbourne in finals month
If the 8 stays like it is, we'll play Richmond in an Elimination Final at the MCG. Won't that be lovely!
Port Power has GWS (home), Essendon (away), Sydney (home), North (away) and Fremantle (home). So similar to us 2 games you think you should win, 2 games starting as underdogs and 1 50/50. If we beat Carlton and Saints (home) as expected, then we will play finals.Ehh I'm not so sure though. We are no certainties v Carlton and still have west coast and the dogs away plus Collingwood which is likely 3 losses. Port on the other hand have a pretty cruisey run home.
Hawks might have something to say about that ... they play North and if they have a 150pt to 50pt game against GC right now, their % would get close to ours. With Bullies losing to the Saints we are effectively 2 games clear despite being in poor form.

I am notI’m not sure if you are being serious.
How? How is this possible? It’s delaying what I see as the inevitable drop down the ladder. We are still in the 8, baby!!!!!

Yet everyone here used to bag the crap out of him. Go figure.![]()
4 years Mackay'Fraid I could never figure it. Maybe herd mentality ? The AFL knew what he as worth and head hunted him into help save the Lions.
Just wish we could get some largish major quality changes that turn the club around and set us on the upward path, but the opposite seems to be our slow spiral to nowhere.
Play like they played today and the saints could win their last 5 games of the year... Fast, hard, straight, exciting footy.
They have;
Melbourne... you don’t know what you’re gonna get from the dees
adelaide at AO.. they’ll beat us if they play against us like they played today, especially at AO where we can’t seem to win..
Dockers in melbourne.. dockers are s**t
Carlton
Swans in Sydney... swans are fragile at home too..
Can we sack Pyke tomorrow please!..

He’s the football ops manager, those 3 examples I gave directly related to his roleI was thinking more at the admin and coaching levels.

Most teams can beat us if they play fast, hard, straight, exciting footy........while we are slowing the game down, working the possessions, thinking lateral etc
Good teams are now just bursting through the dour set ups of the more.defensive teams. Take a chance and move the ball forward.Interesting the Saints weren’t playing fast football at the start of the year and won their 4/5 games in the first 7 rounds then went to a fast attacking game and proceeded to lose most of them which is probably more to do with skill level.
Perhaps we are the same - can’t execute. Well I know 4 of our defenders can’t execute well.
So the spot you don't want to be is second on the AFL ladder. The worst performing position bar none.
