It’s a hard job winning a Bnf let alone 2. Everyone can make their own opinion but I want to see Ross in the guts with Steele/Dunstan and Acres/Clark with lots of outside spread Hill/Jones and great kicks Billings/Coffield/Sinclair

Uncontracted and definitely improves our side, 3 years is a stretch but he’s still playing very good football.

Smith is contracted.

He'd be the type you'd take as a FA, but at his age he's not worth giving up a decent pick for IMO

My argument to this is that Ross’s best footy is played when runs forward of centre. His best games tend to end with him having scoreboard impact and as evident under Ratten he excelled just by doing this.

Richo had him behind the ball at half back at times. Terrible positioning for a bloke who is suspect kicking under pressure and isn’t a penetrating kick.

Did he really excel though? He kicked a couple of nice goals v WB & Melb but was absolutely deplorable kicking the ball to our forwards (as per usual).

I think Seb will be pushed out of the midfield in the next 2 seasons. The questions are where does he play then and would it be beneficial to cash him in now & get currency to get an elite young mid in?

This GC draft concession furore is as much an opportunity as it is a hindrance. It's like having another shot at the GWS mini-draft that we should have had a crack at.

I had a quick look bird man and it really wasn’t clear but yes it appears he is for another year.

That makes it more problematic, I’m still fine with him joining us as long as the trade is a reasonable one. He’s the sort of player that would provide leadership and an immediate boost on the field. So long as we’re getting in some young talent I’m fine with up to 6 best 22 veterans on the list.

Ryder, smith, geary, Brown, Hannebery, savage and gray are either on the list or being spoken about, I’m thinking we’ll probably wind up with 5.

How does that improve our team? You are trading away our best midfielder and Dual Bnf winner. The narrative on this board is that Ross is s**t. But he beat out 3 blokes who had great years this year to claim the Bnf.

The good thing is that Gold Coast are very poorly run, and with Sandringham not playing in the NEAFL, they would have little knowledge of a lot of our players.
