And that is exactly the point isn't it? He's not a need, he's just a want. What's better than having a Coleman medal winning forward? Having 2 of them! But only if he's free - don't actually want to trade proper price for him! Greedy, self-righteous, smug a***holes. Which is also why they don't really care if they get him to go into a draft and don't get him - they shrug their shoulders and say "oh well, no loss to us". Once again I note that this is a joke of a "national" competition.

They can if they want.

GWS did it to Sydney with Jed Lamb.

Carlton did it to Gold Coast with Martin last year.

It's not exactly a rare occurrence.

I was ahead of my time.

Leave it, don't accept a pick 40 for Hately.
Keep club pride and a reputation for fair assessment of value.
If we get low-balled once, every high draft pick in future that leaves after two years (and there will always be more like that with the Giants) will get low-balled too.

It's a PSD thing.

It only really applies to one or two clubs a year.

A pick around 25-30 is what you'd usually get for a late first round pick who hasn't established himself as an automatic best 22 selection. Pick 40 isn't that far off, but I'd consider seeing if we can get their future 3rd as well for a future fourth or something.

unique situation in Adelaide get first crack in the pre season draft

So to draw out the drama the Cameron deal won't get done till late tomorrow. No submissions until 3pm....

So after last year's attempt to force people to line up trades late, this year they'll mandate it instead.

Under an hour to go.

Witherden about to go to Eagles for a low pick and Lions paying some salary. I really don't understand why we didn't look at him: well we obviously we didn't rate him, but why?
You have to assume it's because we rate our in-house replacements, presumably with Lachie moving back (given that's where he played his best football) and Cumming coming in.

he may not have been interested in us?

He wanted senior games without taking too much of a pay cut.

If GWS wanted to front up with that, he would've done it IMO. He has no links to WA that I'm aware of.

You'd think so, but it is a complicated thing isn't, so you just never no know who is keen on who and who isn't
