A contested forward mark, who can read the flight of the ball. I like the sound of that.

Can he jump?

Having said that, I don't think you can play him, Lobb and Taberner in the one forward line.
If we regularly have all of Lobb, Taberner and Darcy available that could be a minor issue, but he can also play in defence.

Well as long as we hold onto Lloyd Meek we should be fine. Michael Mallard might be available in the rookie draft if we want to sure up stocks as well.

wouldn't mind a haul of Caleb Poulter, Jackson Callow, Brandon Walker and Joel Western...then Mallard in the rookie draft..

Do Geelong need a ruck? I note they moved up to 27 yesterday, could they have Neale in mind I wonder?
The window is open now in their eyes.
I don’t see the Tigers with an elite ruck, serviceable.
I’d say they would want players that are plug and play.
More speed, goal kicking types, you have to build a better mousetrap.

Geelong have needed a ruck since about 2015 when Hamish McIntosh fell to bits.

Henry Walsh and Max Heath are genuine chances to go before Shannon Neale, we just don't care about them because they're Victorian.

Where you you rate Eddie Ford Chris? He is a good marketing man anyway - that story about him asking freo for footage of Nat Fyfe was on AFL main Twitter page yesterday!

I have him at #26 on my board that I was updating this morning.

I quite like Heath’s combative approach, and think he looks more advanced in his development. If Geelong are looking for a ruck he would be a more realistic target than Neale or Walsh I reckon.

hope 'the Valente' is not like a fine wine thats left in the rack to improve its potential - but never gets tried.:drunk:
Fun fact: "Valente" is the Portuguese word for Valiant.

Bugger the booze metaphors, personally I prefer the idea we already have one or two Rolls Royce midfielders out there, with a Valiant Charger muscle car still waiting in the garage. 😁😁😁

I reckon the Bombers will take Cox so they may be both gone by our pick
Essendon loves Cox so I agree with that. Really unsure about Chapman. He said himself Freo hadn't spoken to him since earlier in the year so on one hand that might mean they are no longer interested, or just that they had little more to discuss at this time (pick 15 is not pick 7 - who knows who will be available by that point). Also, wonder about eastern states clubs wanting to pick him up when he plays such an important role with his brother and could be a classic go home when there are equivalent level players from Vic and SA that would be lower risk. But then you could argue Darcy has stayed when he was close with his brother with Down's who I'm sure would also love to have him around, so who knows. Personally think he could be the new Mundy starting as a half back that becomes a big mid and game winner. I would be happy if we took him.

I am not sure why we would prefer a defender with potential to progress to the midfield (Chapman) over a player already demonstrating the ability to play midfield (Carroll).

AFL handing GC picks like that in a supposedly equalised comp now having unintended consequences. Who on earth passes at pick 27? They have basically handed that pick to Geelong for sweet f all. Geelong twice now have profited from GC getting ridiculous handouts. They should be paying for Alex Davies and Jeffrey like everyone else does and it would not be unfairly distorting the equilibrium of the draft. Unfortunately Gill will do anything for GC to win a flag.

Agreed. I would have expected them to at least have to use a pick for them. Even if they were unable to be bid on. They've ended up with a 1st and 2nd round pick for Sweet FA

And the knock on affect is that they gift picks to GC who pass these on for basically F All to strong clubs that get stronger. The AFL doesnt want to know about it either.
