Hately was definitely named on the extended bench on Thursday night but Jye Caldwell named in front of him....not hard to see why if you're watching the game currently.

I might be wrong, but I don't know how much we will see of Rankine.

But if we do, and he is as good as we think then bloody hell.

Personally I'd have picked Rozee ahead of him, imagine if they'd done that.

Caldwell looking nice. Developed in the midfield in the ressies last year and playing midfield at AFL level.

Personally I'd have picked Rozee ahead of him, imagine if they'd done that.

Remember the shit we got thrown at us on here when we said we'd take Rozee before Rankine and that we thought he'd have a better career than Rankine?

Character swung it for me.

A lot of those Rankine fans now well and truly on the Rozee bandwagon and at this point we're well ahead of them .....hindsight is a wonderful thing.

And I can just imagine the melts on here if they'd both been available and we'd taken Rozee.

Not the Jye Caldwell I saw plenty of in his under-age year for the Pioneers before his hamstring issues in his draft year, it was always a case of get his strings right and he'd be an A grade AFL midfielder. He'd have picked himself.

I vividly remember a 2017 GWV Rebels vs Bendigo Pioneers game at Alfredton Reserve here in Ballarat where Brent Daniels put on a clinic and 2 under-agers Jye Caldwell and Tom Berry were absolute standouts for their respective teams.
