It will be interesting to see how Stephenson could potentially affect our draft selections.

Hollands, whilst I think is a potential mid, there's still a risk that he is a forward at AFL level.

Thomas, Taylor, Zurhaar, Stephenson, Hollands, Garner, Walker is far too many medium type forwards.
I reckon we’re going Tall this year.

It gives Jy, LDU, Bonar and TT another 20 games of midfield development and then attack the super-mids draft next year to add to that experience. Probably be eyeing off the best inside mid as Cunners eventual successor then too.

GWS rejects Cat's latest offer

Greater Western Sydney wants a third first-round draft pick from Geelong for Jeremy Cameron after knocking back the Cats’ offer for a second time late on Tuesday.

The Herald Sun revealed on Tuesday the Cats had improved their offer for Cameron by dropping their demand for a second-round pick back from the Giants.

It means the Cats offered pick No. 15 and No. 20 which based on draft points (2024) was almost equivalent to pick No. 4 (2034).

But in a fresh development late Tuesday, the Herald Sun can reveal the Giants indicated they will not trade their greatest player for No. 15 and No. 20 alone, and want the deal to include either pick No. 13 or a future first-round pick.

It means the Cats have had their offer for Cameron rejected a second time, prompting talks at the Cats about their next move.

GWS are adamant the superstar forward demands the same loaded package of picks that Geelong secured from West Coast for the departure of Tim Kelly last year.

It is a strong stance from the Giants which puts the club in a position to receive one of the best-ever returns in a trade deal.

GWS remains certain the Cats will eventually cave and give-in to the Giants’ demands if Geelong want Cameron as a finishing piece to its forward line.

Yes but Hooks would be a perfect crumbing forward and Commandant Lassard can be our new coach

Seems a good fit, I do recall Commandant Lassard making a rousing speech at the lectern on one occasion many, maaaany years ago.

Also reinforced the need to have a good assistant.

Couple of those will move to mid though... at least ct and tt, walker to the wing, versatility is good

Why would the Cats want to cough up 3 1st rounders when they were initially planning on getting him for free. If they do, good work GWS.
I really hope Geelong stick to their guns - I don't want GWS to get so many picks and I want to see more drama come PSD time :D

My hopes now pin on us pulling 3x 2nd rounders out of Melbourne (memo to media: thanks for the tip that 26 alone should see us collapse to our knees and praise the heavens but yeh, g'gf) and a solid return for Higgins.

The end game is then to use the goodwill from trading for a DFA and the potential list management face-saving conversation starter of taking on Stephenson's wage to extract the dogs and pies first rounders to help them evade bids.

Make it happen Euge.

Untrue. It was just a guest appearance.

Rumour has it Ben paid James $10,000 to sing "Goodbye My Lover" to a giant meatball sub (not a euphemism) as Ben hoed in (also not a euphemism).

There was an articles ages back about him looking for a property in Geelong but doubtful enough time to have bought, settled and moved.

Visited Geelong is more likely

Also - he can live in Geelong and play for North, its not Mars

Happy for Geelong to be pushed as they were thinking 3 first rders and a premier ff for free.... I think it will get done as gws can't afford to lose two firsts.... it will maybe be their 13 and 15 at a guess leaving the 20 for us to take! Will def test them to how desperately they want higgo
