Smoothing his money out over the long-term is a smart move by all parties, paying him 600k for 3 years was ridiculous. If we're taking his full salary no chance we're giving up more than a 2nd imo

Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Probably. But my point was more about Ralph now for two days going with the 'North pulled the rug out from Brown' without mentioning that he rejected our offer first.Didn't we offer 750K but he was asking for 850K?
If we can still coax 14 out of the Dogs for 30 / 31 / 33, I'd happily trade 26 to the Pies for JSIt looks as though the pies HAVE to trade him out & probably Treloar also, because someone lost the calculator down there.
Stephenson will definitely be cheaper than market price, but I expect we'll act honorably under the circumstances.
Pick 11 would be overs if we're taking on his whole contract, and I suspect that's the main sticking point for Collingwood.

You’re a brave man for what you said in the Collingwood forumWho is feeding him this time?

Do you?
Do you really?

Who knows. 4 years is a long time. Heck, 4 months is a long time. It was only in June that we had a great win over GWS. 5 of the blokes who played that day are no longer with us.Yep and its not like we wouldn't have contracted him again after those 4 years either.
I think Jeds getting offered good moneyHow pissed would Jed be if this were true?
Yep we're 100% in full rebuild mode and anyone who doesn't see that is an absolute ****en Mormon. And this is well overdue and I'll finish with. How awesome that we haven't entertained trading for shitmen this year? We’d be raging if we gave up pick 30 for a 32 year old
I thought we were taking on the contract he has now and stretching it out over a longer time - I can’t see how it’s worth it if it costs more than a second rounder. Yes he has upside but we haven’t been keen on big or long contracts and we’d be setting the bar for next negotiations with LDU, Thomas and the others if this isn’t clearly seen as a salary dump.this is how pick 11 gets involved when you are offering a good contract - a stealfor a 2nd , not sure I’m keen for 11 but I’ll trust Brady as I know Jack sh*t

Problem is we always over valuate players we love. On ability alone, Higgo is worth more than 30, but when you add in age, contact situation, club direction etc etc, pick 30 isn't bending over, it isn't bad at all.
Hoping we bundle it up for a higher pick or bundle for a decent player and pick, anything that helps us grow moving forward. Love your work Higgo!
He saw Dom Tyson get three years so I doubt anything would shock him these days .How pissed would Jed be if this were true?
