Not sure I agree on Higgins. Pick 30 is about right from a market value point of view given his age but the optics look terrible. Big Club goes to a department store and says we want that one and presto he's running around in their colours despite being contracted. Higgins is the most professional player we've had at the Club for years, has two really good years in him and is easily in our best 22. Given our leadership challenges and our stripped down list - you seriously can't buy what he brings. The response from players yesterday really said it all. Pick 30? Nah.

Pick 30 for a 33 year old who we had no intention of retaining in 2022? Every day of the week.

Media. Watson on SEN was talking the same narrative this morning. Cites gambling, illness, lack of strength. Surely, surely he's worth pick 11 says Watson. Lyon says no, it's a second round. Watson back tracks and basicaly asks why JS would want to go to North anyway. Watson contradicted his argument inside a one minute discussion. Media.

Watson didn't say anything like that.

He was saying that if Collingwood wanted to get rid of such a young player who had two good years and a lot of future upside there must be other reasons beyond salary that they are looking to move him on. Watson was primarily referring to his off field issues which Lyon questioned and Watson referred to the bet.

Anyway, Watson said nothing of the kind that we should send pick 11 in exchange. In fact he and Lyon agreed that North could really take advantage here.

I struggle to see how that can be topped for 2020.

I'd want a future 3rd back.

We don't need to trade a top 25 pick for him, especially given the strength of next years draft.

Like Giantroo said, it should be one second round pick this year. Take it or leave it.


We aren't the ones with the ****ed TPP, especially if they have to pick up $300k of Treloars contract.

The Dunkley thing seems to be the blockage here. If he goes to * then I'm confident Treloar will go to Dogs and Stephenson has a better chance of staying. Collingwood's hand get's stronger.

If Dunkley doesn't go then Stephenson is almost guaranteed to come isn't he. for cheap too.

Bringing in pick 2 or drafting Cameron? Can’t be that delusional think it’s a chance. Cameron on massive coin which they can’t afford and North aren’t giving up pick 2 for anything they’d be willing to offer.

Personally I think a pick 20-24 in next years draft crop is overs. Unless we deal with them for their pick 16 and package some seconds as well.

Like Stephenson, 16 and 56 for 28, 30 and our future 2nd. Gives them points next year for Daicos and adequate points to match their 16 this year.

values Stephenson around pick 23,which I can swallow since we move up the draft.
