I've almost mastered his voice much to the annoyance of my wife and semi-annoyance of my two year old.
I can call him in the mam’s voice. Can’t wait until those catch up drinks next season.

I've also heard rumors of a falling out between Stephenson and Collingwood coaching group, which has only been exacerbated since this whole salary dump has come to the fore.

There may be no going back for either of them now no matter what.
I think we have all heard a wide set of rumors as to why he is leaving ranging from gambling to his 'softness'. Something certainly stinks at the pies and I don't think it's just the salary cap.

Yep and there’ll be teams thinking let’s get the gun players in now - like the blues , eagles ect and trade for ‘21 picks

Will have to do quick smart then only got the 4.5 hrs today.... I was thinking the fact they have three could diminish the value of that one as now clubs may have more to choice from

North, Demons deal for Brown helps Stephenson trade
By Michael Gleeson
North Melbourne and Melbourne are close to a deal to send Ben Brown to the Demons for an exchange of a suite of picks.
The deal, which is agreed in principal, cannot be lodged until later today after an AFL briefing.
The deal will centre on North giving up Brown and pick 28 and receive Melbourne’s pick 26 and either pick 31 or 33.
The clubs will also swap future late round picks.
North is confident the move strengthens their hand in negotiations for Collingwood’s Jaidyn Stephenson.
North sources believe they can secure Stephenson for a second round pick – possibly pick 26 from Melbourne - as they are prepared to take on all of Stephenson’s salary. The former rising star winner is contracted for almost $600,000 a year for the next three years.
Collingwood has argued they want pick 11 from North.

This is a crap deal for BB if true.

As Tas said yesterday, and I fully agree with him, we don't want to keep losing years of development by moving first round picks to the following year, which we effectively did last year. Just can't keep doing that. If we got pick 14 as well, then that would become an option.
I agree and I wouldn't be keen to do it if we didn't have pick 2.

I love how they throw in meaningless late picks to feel like they got a trade win.

Hope that isn’t the deal

Just to correct Kane's alternative facts, as it stands:

There are 12 players off the list:
- 10 primary list
- 2 rookie list

We have added 2 players to the primary list and it is now confirmed there will be a reduction of 2 players to the total list (disregarding Cat B rookies, as we only have 1 anyway).

So, at the moment, we need to add 8 players to the list:
- 6 primary list
- 2 rookie list
(This is assuming we go with a 38 primary / 4 rookie split).

For most of this year I’d have said Stephenson and a latish second round pick for Brown was terrible. Now, given the lack of interest in Ben, I would take it.

If we give up brown + 26 for 28 + 31/33 that would be a terrible deal. Need to get 2 x 2nd rounders now or tell godees to get stuffed for being funny buggers and let him go to the draft to send a message, along with letting every team before Melbourne that they are happy for them to pick him up in the PSD. Can't see *, hawks and swans saying no

Yep it is, but if you put it in context with Stephenson it probably looks ok.

Brown & 28 for 26 & 31
Stephenson for 26 (from GoDees) :thumbsu:

edit. Upon further reflection giving them our pick 28 is way too generous. No deal on that one.

So Brown's worth pick 36.

So less than Brayden Preuss.

I’d be staggered if that’s the deal unless the future round swaps are VERY favourable toward us.

if it was BOTH 31 and 33, then maybe, but 26 and one or the other is low ball

If it's not the deal we want we should be saying we will walk him to the PSD and you can take your chances Melbourne

So Ben Brown and 28 for 26 and 1 of 31/33.... for reals?

So basically the same value as they got for Preuss... better be a bit more in it for us.

Would we accept it if they added pick 43 or 50 to that deal. On points would be around picks 18-22 in value.
