A pies mate telling me about all the whisperings of JS as if every other AFL listed player is a devout disciple of Jesus Christ with not a single flaw. I have more flaws than JS even if all I was told was half true. It was rich.

And the more mud being thrown around just tells me the hub was a hand grenade for just about every club in different ways.

And yes, I was told in no uncertain terms that the pies were being aggressive in their list strategy and they should be applauded. Revisionist scoundrels.

What have Collingwood done?! Treloar might have kept his mouth shut if you didn't insist on just dragging his wife into this and then shit on his other departing team mates.

They've lost the ****ing plot. Walsh's comments were downright embarrassing too. Now isn't the time to be throwing haymakers and punching down at departing players that YOUR fans are grieving over losing. Absolute morons.

Just remind him he was averaging 15 disposals and 1.7 goals a game and was a lock in every mid season AA side only 15 months ago as a 20 year old prior to his betting suspension.

They're certainly being aggressive. It appears from the outside that aggression is being channelled into punching themselves in the head.

And yes I have also been "warned" about Stephenson's shortcomings. And also Treloar's for some reason even though I sought no counsel on either.

- monumentally f’ed their cap by overpaying battlers and giving too much money to good players
- f’ed off a rising star winner because he apparently "didn't open up to the group" and then got on radio and basically lied about why they got rid of him
- traded a starting wingman on 550k for pick 65 then tried to claim it was to give him more opportunity
- traded two first rounders for a gun outside mid with no hammies, gave him more money than god then traded him for a single first three years later and tried to blame his exit on his international netballer wife
- still have $7m tied up in the third best ruckman in the competition
- still haven't signed their mercurial forward who might not even play because he's still under the cloud of sexual assault allegations, who if they do sign will take a monstrous chunk out of their cap
- gave an American import a contract that probably wasn't designed to allow him to hit his triggers for an extra year at 550k, then accidentally played him enough to let him hit the triggers, tying up another 550k in the cap on a bloke good for 1-2 half decent quarters a season
- after what might be the worst day in the club's last five years, they come out and bag basically all the players who left in order to save face with their supporters, who probably don't care and will hate them regardless, only serving to ruin their relationships with the players they traded and likely piss off ones who are still on their list and friends with the ones who left
You forgot the part where they sold the farm for a guy who hasn’t played or trained for 18 months and they pay him to sit at home and fingerpaint all day.....

Real angst in my house and all the Pies contacts we’ve heard from. It is possible to feel sorry for individual fans and also enjoy the organisation being a laughing stock.
I agree with that sentiment. Friends of mine recently purchased the 2021 Collingwood calendar for their daughter. January and October are looking a bit awkward now.

We are signalling to the market that we are keeping our options open and that is the right thing to do.

Doesn't mean we need to trade pick 2 - but we would be silly to close off any option at this stage.

are you saying we don't need 2, just like we said we didn't need Ben Brown, crikey what is that 2 worth now?

The sh*t is going to hit the fan here, They are going to get a massive whack. you cannot pay big dollars to Grundy, Treloar, De Goey, etc and be under the cap.
I want to know how the cats are under the cap

the amount of 26 plus year olds they have is crazy, who would all be on good coin

Bingo!

It's not like I wanna give Stephenson/Atu back, perish the thought, but I am not going to piss all over that battler element or be incapable of empathizing with their situation either.

ICGtwof%cks about their corporate clingons. These are the people that ****ed this place up in the first place. It's a class thing for me.

If that makes me a bad person, then so be it.

Multi-generational cliches exist because they are ultimately rooted in truth.
Mate, Pykie is right in at least one thing, demographics aside - vast majority of Collingwood supporters would love us to be shipped out of Victoria, and laugh at our club at every opportunity. Can't bring myself to feel sorry for them as a club. Sure, there are some decent people there, just like everywhere else, but generally speaking, if the shoe was on the other foot, we would get zero sympathy.

Agree, but that wont be on the table if Crows pick McDonald and personally I can't see us not picking him at 2. #6 would get us one of the mythical top 5 but if reports are correct and there's space to others, the kid we'd pick at 7 could be there at 11, and who knows what we've got our eye on further down. From what I can tell, Mahony, Comben, and Perez were great picks. Curt Taylor the year before a touch of genius! I think we have a strong bunch of kids coming through the midfield along with senior hardnuts in Cunners, JZ, and Jed. Outside mids/wingers, Polec, Dumont, and can easily see Bailey, TT, Jaidyn rotating through there. Our key defenders look good with Corr coming in and McKay is only going to get better after a breakout year. The area we need to address is Key forwards and another developing ruckman. Comben could be anything who knows, but if the opportunity to pick up a highly rated young key forward (and he plays up the ground, is a big kick, and is very mobile) then I just can't see us passing up that opportunity. Sure there are others, but I think WAFL form is good form. Tillthorpe didn't do a great deal at senior level in the sanfl. Granger Barrass is a defender is he not? Nope take McDonald all day every day, addresses both a need and more or less best available.
Granger badass can play big both ends. A very versatile player. Logan is a pure talent
