I'm on this page as well
Don't need any more junior mids , wait for Cripps in this area .
The one thing we are missing is that Hogan / McCarthy sized lead up / running forward .
Pick the best available there as we have immediate and long term holes to fill .
Not sure about Cox kicking style , looked ugly but was effective ( probably hit targets in the highlights as the junior pressure and defensive skill level wasn't as intense)

I like the way Ford goes about it particularly his tackling pressure but perhaps his vertical leap and mobility would make up for height

he's is only 5 cm shorter than MCarthy and close to his weight
I feel like we need 1 more quality developing mid. Unless cripps has told us he’s coming which is unlikely. Lose mundy next year.

yes my thinking too, with Mundy and Fyfe coming toward the latter part of their careers those quality bigger body mids we need to cover into the future. Collingwood are getting a gem in Reef McInnes. There are a couple of others that may fit the bill.

Yes I'm hearing you but wasn't there some agreement on here that Blakely( if he can sort his disposals and decision making out ) , Crowden and even Acres could be works in Progress for our midfield depth ?
Then you've got Tucker & Hughes and Valente . That's 6 fair to good players sitting in the wings as depth .
( Are Tucker and a Hughes still contracted ? How much longer ?)

I've read a few things on here and other teams boards that gives me hope on Cripps , but I'm not counting on it. Seems far fetched in reality but also plausible in another reality if they truly do want to come home and need to choose between us and the Dirty Birds .

Lots on here put Mundy and Fyfe in the same bracket as being ‘towards the end of their careers’.
Let’s not forget Fyfe just turned 29, and Mundy will turn 36 months before Fyfe even hits 30.
Realistically you’d have to say 2021 will be Mr Evergreen’s last year, while Fyfe could still be around in 2025 (he’ll turn 34 in September).

I like Fyfe in the forward line. People have seen him honing his craft at freo oval

Gotta love the bloke. I cant wait to hear the true story of the tripping over his suitcase fiasco. He said if we won a flag he would tell the story.

I personally can't see why Ford should be ranked much lower than Perkins/Henry/Cook. He'd actually be my first preference out of that group. He might have a lower goal average, but I thought he looked to be the one who could be the most impactful/damaging. But I am just a pleb watching 5 minute highlight reels and looking at 2019 stats.

I wouldn't put too much weight in how the experts are ranking the Victorians, if they had played this year then player ratings would likely be very different.

It sounds like Ford might still be there at pick 32 and if he was I’d snap him up. Looking at the highlights - his marking looks excellent but I’m not sure about his kicking...
Still though, an elite mark is a good base to work with.

Seems Eddie Ford's the new Mathew panos
The next Matthew pavlich. Those were the days

The next Matthew pavlich. Those were the days
Holy crap 💩
From " 3rd rounder with a dodgy kick who can't kick goals" to " Mathew Freaking Pavlich " in half a page 🙃

Get it done Belly , it's the bargain of the year

Yeah him, but in his draft year. Possibly 2008 or 2009

People forget that in Matt Panos draft year he was talked up on BigFooty as the next coming of Matthew Pavlich partially because he was/is from SA and he has about the same height and had kicked a lot of goals leading up to the draft and was a very good kick. On questioning the actual recruiters their opinion was that he didn't have the athletic profile or a relevant position to make it at AFL. He was taken in the rookie draft by the Western Bulldogs but as I recall he was then dropped after two seasons. He then worked hard to change his position from being a key forward to a midfielder, which he has been playing in the SANFL.
