Delist/trade

SMALL/MEDIUM DEFENDERS: Jake Kelly, David Mackay
MIDFIELDERS: Paul Seedsman
KEY FORWARDS: Taylor Walker
SMALL/MEDIUM FORWARDS: Ben Davis
RUCKS: Billy Frampton or Kieran Strachan

Frampton contracted until 2022 though? One of the back up ruckmen probably stays regardless

Will Lachie Murphy remain first choice?

A line thru Benny Davis already!? Far out, might as well give him a few games this year to see how he goes. There's potential there I reckon. Has a lot of the right attributes, one of our faster players. Also I will be interested to see if Frampton and Strachan pick up a bit this year. Berg took some time but popped up all of a sudden. Hopefully we can replicate it with a few others.

Take out Gibbs who has effectively left the club & we probably have the youngest list.
If we managed to discard the safety blanket (mookay) we would definately be..

But mookay is supremely important to have on the list this year given everything he provides such as..... um... yeah.. ummm... well, you what..

That was last year surely

If he's not breaking into the team when we're bottom then when is he?

Our treatment of Davis was perplexing. Pump him up in the preseason, plays one ok game, I think he got votes in the B&F, covid and then never to be seen again even when we were getting smashed.

Wasn't he unfit for selection for a fair stretch with a hot spot/fracture in one of his feet?

Edit : Nope just checked ...

Sure has been some strange handling of him when he's fit to play.

If so that's bad luck for Davis, as last season was one where we really needed to see if he could make it.

Next season he has a stack of new talent to compete with for a game and it's pretty much on the line for him.

The club has kept him on the list for an extended period as he absolutely has the ability. He needs a big pre-season and a good run at it to stay listed.

Hopefully he can get a run of luck and show us what he has got. I think that it's good enough but list spots are at a premium and you can only hold guys for so long.

I just checked he's had foot issues a few times over his time with us but it looks like he was good to go on checking our injury lists.

It appears his papers have been stamped you'd think, probably having a year on his contract saved him this time.

He had an injury late in the season.

He must have come back from covid in poor shape, even worse than the rest of the team, it’s the only thing I can think of.

He's shown glimpses but just doesn't seem to be able to add consistency to his kit bag even at SANFL level, certainly above average overhead for his size.

Ben Davis shouldn't be on the list NOW. An absolute list clogger. Has never really shown that much at any level, though he seems like a reasonable lad.

It's amazing how much we overstate his four or five touch games.

He's had 2 games at AFL level. 2. Barely makes you able to claim the plural above.

Anyway, worth a bit more of a look for me. I know his contract may have saved him from being delisted but if he's on the list, worth a look. Get him in early in the season to help tank again up to the two mid season drafts so we get first pick in them and also contribute to getting a good year end pick.

Could it be Heath Shaw?
Scharenberg?

2 games.
One was V Geelong at Geelong - which we know is horrendous for forward.
The second was then followed by a months long break.

Pretty tough on him.

He's done two fifths of **** all at SANFL level too.

He just doesn't deliver.

To me Mackay and Davis are the surprise players that we kept on. Don’t agree with Mackay at all. Absolutely no reason to keep him on the list. I think Davis has absolutely showed some exciting stuff. But not sure if it’s promising enough to look past injury/body concerns and the fact that we have drafted depth in that general forward position.

I still take the positive from Davis’s retention. Must be ticking boxes and list management see a lot of upside there. I feel like if he gets a chance to string together a few games, he will do quite well.

Sounds like a kid from interstate - probably Victorian. I don't read anything into that statement which suggests mature-aged player.

fingers crossed Liam Kolar. Looks exiting prospect and Mathews I suggest

We re-signed Davis for two years (bafflingly) when Pyke was still coach. Seems likely that Nicks just doesn’t rate him.

Would be baffling if we take a senior medium defender. Last place we need depth.

Surely if we are taking a mature player to provide leadership it’s a key defender to backup McAsey.

Nah Hamish said for list needs and to help coach meaning midfield or forward, definately not another defender I think, my money still on Liam Kolar or Mathews or both especially if Stengle gets dumped, as I think he will

Why do people think we’re going for Heath Shaw? What’s the point?

We already have the "eggsperience" via Davo...
