Having not seen a single second of vision of Gibcus, I think that selecting him would be ideal for our list and at the moment happy for them to take a punt on Owens and Windhager being available.

If either land at 20 we’re coming out with just one mid from the draft when we might’ve had 3. So bit of a risk there but worth it in my view.

We should be keeping Billings. I would let Ross go first and then Dunstan but I’d be okay with keeping Dunstan on.

We tried the Casbolt type with McKernan this year. Hopefully we don't try again.

That said, it's not an easy back-up position to find. Being the back-up, back-up ruck means they are a below average player who just happens to be tall.

Wouldn't mind him as a back up full back though

It’s a tough choice for bing but that’s life both clubs assuming it’s down to two will make great offers he’ll choose one and both clubs will move on.

What he decides to do will have a major impact on planning moving forward so I have no idea why GC would want to drag it out. They would appear to have a stronger hand this year if he’s leaving, if he’s not then sign on and do yourself and both clubs a favour.

Obviously I’d really like to get him to the saints but if it’s not happening we need to move on and build a side that will be top 4, can’t be missing opportunities waiting for something that’s not happening.

I was thinking back to the Geelong and West Coast games today. Both times we basically got single handedly beaten by their star mids where we weren't able to stop Kelly and Danger.

Ross can do it effectively but in the West Coast game, the change was too late and not sure he is strong and aggressive enough for this role.

We really need a smart 2 way big bodied mid with decent pace and skills to stop teams with a star mid to be able to walk it out of stoppage when they get on top. Hope this can be Bytel next year.

It states that Bytel is 6' 2" in his profile , Is that correct? and he is about 12kg lighter than Danger though and both the players you mentioned have speed off the mark so Bytel has some work to do. Dont think Ross is capable of holding players like that, they are the best in the league.
