I wonder if our list management will be interested to see how Paddy McCartin goes playing in defence for Sydney's VFL side or whether we have fully gone past him.

I've got no evidence to base this on, but I feel like the club has moved on. The vibe I get from interviews is that the club would love for him to have a succesful career, but has closed that chapter.

The club or other are breaking the law if they are telling randoms employees of the club's salaries.

Really, our club is a leaking rabble and people deserve to be sacked and the club charged by the ACCC or people are making sh!t up about what our players are paid.

Never mind, if Albaneze gets in, it will be mandatory for clubs to show salaries.

I would hope not , i just dont understand why he thinks he is not going to get knocked out again and be back where he was 18 months ago

Plus the fact they guaranteed him a future spot when he came off the list a year early if/when he was medically ticked off again. Then didn’t give him said list spot. I’d suggest that door is fully closed.

Granted nothing is ever guaranteed, but when it’s written on a piece of paper, you’d probably have the right to think it’s very close!

Dangerfield is the exception. His contract is lower than it should be but he would be making a tonne through all the endorsements and other stuff he does.

Richmond are paying Dusty about $1.2 mil a season.

How they gave him that contract is beyond me , not saying Bruce was no good but he was never a A grade forward - 50 goals in one season out of 4 , they were clutching at straws to find a forward I suppose.

That is unders if you ask me. Richmond kept him by only paying him 1.2 mil a year, and they would still be laughing at that bargain.

Money well spent, sure (given how well he's done in finals)... but I'd hold off on the 'bargain' call.
Don't forget he signed for 7 years as a 26yo.

Might look like a bargain now, but paying a 31-33yo dusty 1.2mill a year might not be the 'bargain' it is today.

Sure, dusty is durable injury wise, but i recall Buddy franklin was pretty durable too at the hawks before he signed his 9 years?

I guess by that time they'll just have to satisfy themselves looking at the 4 premierships he's won them while they curse his name. I doubt it's keeping them up at night to be honest.

I'd think a long term ruck partner for Marshall would be a priority. Can definitely see why we were so keen on Draper.

If we can't lure an established gun I'd have some interest in Archie Smith from Brisbane. Has performed pretty well with very limited opportunities and is just entering his physical prime. Free agent at the end of the season so could come cheaply.

Of course we may also opt for the route of bringing in ageing stars like Ryder for 1-2 seasons at a time. Maybe we take Goldy for a flag push to close out his career.
