Paton is very good one on one and good in the air, at 187cm he’s able to help out as the third man up but quick enough not to get burnt by the gun smalls when the ball hits the ground.

I‘m very impressed with Connolly his kicking is just what we need, like Paton he’s a good decision maker and moves the ball on quickly. I really hope our players have a massive offseason with some luck and an easier fixture we really should be playing finals again.

I reckon Paton looks a slower decision maker and a bit more cautious but never wastes his kicks. Leo is a bit more unpredictable. He seems to go without thinking, he can run himself into trouble but has the skills to dig himself out of a hole. You'd love to throw Leo on a wing where he uses his kicking to drop the ball lace out on chests in the forward line. Imagine Shaman and King getting clean delivery.

Jeez this place is already counting Sherman as a lock for the rest of days. Talk about optimistic...

I reckon Leo's future is higher up the ground though. Just needs to put on some more weight.

I see Leo as a Jason Gram type....without the hiding in bushes.

Quick and long lethal pin point boot whose not afraid of a bit of argy bargy

Really , well it cant have got back to Ratts because there is no way he would be play a bloke who wants out of the club , id bet he will still be with us next year
He hasn't started a game since round 15 due to selection and then injury so he hasn't been playing lately. I think there would be a level of maturity anyway though that wouldn't prevent the club from selecting a player who has talked to other clubs. I'd be surprised if Dunstan hadn't at least had some kind of talks with other clubs. It wouldn't be surprising if Battle was talking to other clubs considering how things have played out with him for the past two years.

Coff played last week and well and the not stating on the ground makes no difference with all the rotations

I don‘t see him in defence but maybe it’s part of his development, he seems a natural wingman to me.

Im just hoping that Paton and Gresham can be back to their best at some point next year. An Achilles and broken leg are both lousy injuries probably better off doing an acl.

Tony on SS regarding Billings: "Doesn’t want to leave- don’t think he will"

It's a win-win for us. Either he leaves as he gets overpaid and we get a draft pick and salary space, or he takes a pay cut and we get to keep a good (even if not great) player for a more reasonable amount. Sounds like it might be the latter.

With Hill, Sinclair, Connolly being very fast 2 bounce a possession run and carry half backs who don’t really defend one on one too well. (Sinclair does ok and is quite good as an intercepter). You’d think that there’s one too many and one of them gets freed up to the wing, either Connolly or Hill.

I’m of similar opinion, although of late I have been wishing for another outside midfielder for when Zones is injured.
Reading through a couple of draft profiles, I see we may already have one in our midst & I hope Zac has taken him under his wing.

There's plenty to like about Byrnes. It's interesting that his kicking at pace is labelled as a weakness there. I reckon his delivery into our forwardline has been one of his strong points. He uses it well on both feet, gets into good spots and seems to be a young leader. Once he gets some more midfield minutes, I expect his accumulation will go up pretty quickly. We've got one to work with.

Feel like this has always been the case. Nobody said Billings is crap, just not worth what he is currently on.

Has been injured since R5. He has top class skills and talent.

If he stays look for a fit Billings giving excellent value for reduced money.

Yeah I'm a bit lost. Thought it was about Battle from these posts.

Anyway, I agree re Coffield, would be very surprised if he isn't here next year.

Paton's leg break was severe, so he won't return with the the same agility as he had last season, and will probably be eased back very slowly next season. I wouldn't count on him having any real influence for a long time.

Its been a good opportunity for Leo to play some senior footy, but I think he will be behind a few next year.
He's a running offensive half back with not much defensive side or inside game and just 75 kilos, so you would think needs to work on those areas.
As things stand, all of Billings, Clark, Paton, Gresham, would logically come in and potentially Geary, Long, Bytel the next in line. Lots of competition for Wing / Halfback spots.
