At this stage, we don't have a heap of list spots empty. 6 from the main/rookie list moved on plus both Cat B spots.

Given the pick we drafted Sharman with a pick from moving someone to the LTI list, the should mean he takes a list spot for next year from someone delisted. Plus the AFL requirement to draft 3 players means we only have 2 free as it stands.

And we need to get a Key Defender and Back-up ruck in those spots before another outside mid.

5 are still OOC - Ross, Kent, Lonie, Hunter (R), Joyce (R) - so there are more spots that could open up over the new few weeks.
Thanks, that's interesting. I had thought our problem was with filling list spots.

Cooper Sharman is a rookie, yeah? Would make sense if Wilkie were to be promoted, though the rules were recently changed to allow CAT A rookies to be extended for a 4th year...

So looking at the list George maintains, we have 32 senior listed players currently after retirements, which includes the 4 OOC players. Assuming only 2 stay, that's 8 free list spots. Where am I going wrong?

Yeah I'm counting on a couple of those guys listed moving on and also a spot or two opening up after trades (which will obviously land us a draft pick, its just whether that pick gets used on NGA or another player)

I'd imagine if we get a back up ruck than Hunter will be gone.

I think Sharman can remain on the rookie list

If it ends up we have 6 list spots to fill, we currently have a way of filling 3 in the draft which means the remaining 3 have to be filled as DFA's or in the rookie draft

Probably worth leaving one spot open for the MSD draft again though

I can't see why we want Naish, Doesn't seem to get the hard ball or tackle not a tip rat what's his place in our team? Is it because he is cheap as a delisted free agent or are we hoping to improve our vfl team next year? If we are actually seriously looking at bringing in some young talent how about we look at Will Brodie a far better fit.

I’d rather use the spot on a kid that could be nothing or could be everything.

I wouldn't move on Clark at all! He is our second best and second most untouchable player next to King!

Unless he is a toxic influence at the club (not likely) or there's something we're not seeing, no to Pick 5.

Would need to be way offers if it was going ahead. Pick 5 + Future 1st for Clark and our Future 2nd.

Trading Coff or Clark would be madness. They both re-signed in March though so pretty comfortable those rumours are baseless.
Being interested in a player doesn't mean you are going to get them. Hell even if they nominate doesn't, mean they go, see Dunkley for details.
I am sure we are interested in Bont and Walsh, we were interested in Cerra, but there is lots to happen before these things occur.
I know Coffs manager is looking, if we got a silly offer of a top 10 and a second we would have to consider it. If we got offered pick 20, well we don't deal.

Good to see Rors not flamed. He is only the messenger and certainly not a Flamingo.

I would normally agree but with the lack of footy for the 2000 & 2021 crops, it’s even harder than ever to nail speculative picks

I don’t mind a couple of guys from the top teams fringe that might turn the corner with a bit of a wake up call & new environment. At least we know they can play at the level already (to an extent)

Anything happen today/tomorrow or do we have to wait until monday?
Stuff can happen today & tomorrow.

Even after the trade period ends on Wednesday 13th October, trades involving only draft picks may be traded up until the draft itself in late November

Naish is only one year older than Cooper Sharman

There have been a few examples of late of young players being delisted from their club and being able to make the most of another chance.

I'm not fussed either way with him, but I think just because a player has been delisted doesn't make them any less likely than whoever is taken with a very late or rookie draft pick to become a good AFL player.

Sharman signed a two year extension. Does that mean he if off the rookie list?

Why would Coffs manager be shopping him? He just signed a new contract after a great season so we can assume it would be a good contract. Since then his form has been poor.

His manager should be telling him to get out on the track and in the gym and work his arse off if he wants to earn the same in the future.

On current outputs no club would offer us a first rounder for Coffield. Essendon just picked up Jake Kelly and Adelaide's compo was Pick 42.

We picked up Highmore for Pick 45. Yet to be convinced that Coff offers a lot more than either of those two.

PS - Best thing about Naish is that they make great high performance SUP's.

What’s the knock on him? I don’t get it. He seems to dominate and hasn’t featured in any phantom draft order. Do recruiters think he has reached high full potential?
Haven’t watched him but it’s likely that Tom Mitchell effect. Assuming he gets a lot of disposals but does nothing

All mid-season pick ups are rookies. Whether we upgrade Wilkie might just depend on the amount of draft picks we have. But we would need to do it next year, so if we have the spots we might as well do it now.

Geroge's list is probably right. I've just done it as a straight Out vs In to get our list spots.

Frawley - draftee 1
McKernan - draftee 2
Carlisle - draftee 3
Claverino (R) - Sharman (R)
Dunstan -
Roberton? - unsure whether his spot was what we took Heath with or if it's still free

Alabakis spot can only be replaced by another Cat B rookie.

Then Ross, Kent, Lonie, Joyce (R) and Hunter (R) left uncontracted but not confirmed if they will be gone or not.
