I think Fisher is a better example for this one. Second rounder who had everyone except the close draft watchers asking who.

Every year there's second round type talents that the consensus is "steal" if he's available (often are). But a bloke like Fish who wasn't on most people's radar is few and far between.

I think everyone wanted Charlie because of Ed and people were sold on H because of his position.

My recollection was that Fisher was tipped to be a mid-late 2nd rounder. I went early wanting us to take him with our 2nd pick.

This video seems to have slipped through the cracks.

Draft prospect: Oliver Hollands
Hmmm I’m in 2 minds about him based on the plays I’ve seen. Has great vision, and pressure/tackling, but his disposal is a bit too ‘lobbing’ and the ball hangs too long for AFL level. It would get picked off pretty quickly.

I’m sure he’ll develop, but I think I’d rather go after someone who can drill low bullet passes with accuracy. It’s what we lack.
The more I think about it, the more I think Zac Williams would be perfect for that role if we can replace him with another defender. Maybe draft another pure mid with all the skills would be great.

Who? I have NFI

Hollands weighs 70kgs dripping wet. As he bulks up his penetration will likely increase. Same knock was on Walsh when he came in but as he's added more strength he's improved his kicking over the last few years.

I’m happy for him to lob it to Charlie and especially Harry for 10 years. If anything his lobbing suits our forwards which is not something that can be said at other clubs

Best runner at draft , kicking supposed to be elite but a bit off - at least he can buddy up with Obrien in the pre season!

The write ups I have seen say kicking and strength are his deficiencies.

At this point, we can afford to let our guns spend a year or two developing in the VFL. Most kids are still filling out when they're 18 and 19 years old. By the time he's 20, he should have a decent kick on him and be ready for the big time. And at that point, we are collecting the Campo bros... and that should be our wings and forward flanks sorted out.

What I most enjoyed about Hewett in this package is the way in which he seems to create time (not space but actual time). He doesn't look rushed, he's composed and steady. Looks to have good balance and agility which aids that composure.

This was in the YouTube feed this morning and kudos to pommyinoz being all over it.

This draft was pretty "meh" for me until, I saw Anthony Munkara, he is quoted as being raw, and as I see it, he has lacked exposure
because Essendon are hiding him.

Mind boggles thinking of a forward line with Harry, Charlie with an accent piece like Munkara, it would be seriously ****ing potent. 👍

Cowan does seem very appealing. He'd have great mentors in Saad, Williams, Doc and Boyd even to learn to thrive in the role. His speed and being a tough nut Tassie would do no harm. Sure he might move on when Tassie arrives but he'd be decent currency and if we're successful he may just stick around.

A very interesting article, you get sense this year's draft is so even between 5-13 that anything could happen, also possible that Ed Allen could slip into the top 10, Jefferson also a chance and who knows someone may take a punt on Brayden George earlier than expected in the 12-20 range.

I would love it if whoever slides to 11 is someone we're not overly keen on, but Sydney and/or Giants are.
Get 2 top 20 picks and take George with one.

Reckon 15 - 30 or so in this draft is massively under rated. There are some really good players in this range that would be great gets for us.

Would love 3 or 4 picks in this range.
Every draft cohort has hidden gems in the rande 10-30, the expertise is in the proper due diligence, sound preparation , enabling a recruiting team best opportunity to select valid, predisposed youngsters whom will develop into acceptable AFL standard footballers.

I would take McKenzie over Tsatas, without blinking
Reliability & durability versus inspiration , game changing brilliance its the perennial conflict, the balance is essential and our game demands recruiters get it right , a fine line indeed , but a good team needs a well balanced blend of both.
