Agree with you Szybkowski is a great pick. Low risk. But I doubt Carlton take an inside mid with first pick. Budslinger on the other hand fulfills a need

If Busslinger slides we should take him.

Szybkowski isn't pure inside, more like a Sparrow

Yup agreed a tall KPP or midfielder and hopefully they turn our to be an A grade talent.
Skill, professionalism & determination, are the distinctions or criteria , we need to search.

Her is a speculative one.

Ziggy Toledo Glasman Dandenong Stingrays has kicked @ least 2 goals in all NAB games. 194cm 3rd fwd. Potentially fills the Gunston, Fritsch, Waite hole
See how he goes, this week, will be a test
He is the type I would pick in the 4th round....good football brain, great below his knees, marking needs work.
It is whether his 10 to 15 possession at U19s translates to AFL.
My point is he is the type of risk we need to take.
I'm just a bird in the sky?

Don't mind who we get, looks a few rippers at the 6-11 range. Busslinger as a KPD is good but I think a few of those mid fwds suit our play and needs.

I'd just love someone that can make an impact in next year or two.

Question for the draft watchers: which of the top tier could make the biggest impact in 2023?

Depends on the club

Wardlaw, Clarke, Humphrey Hotton, Sheezel

But, that’s not what the draft is for

Gallagher is the Pioneers Captain...
So has leadership qualities... He alternates between HFF and HBF with stint in the middle...
Has been in the best players for Pioneers 7 out of 9 games, with his 3 Carlton reserves games, we'd have a good idea of him... Quality player and person...
No more pioneers. Get players from successful programs.

Unfortunately limitations in the program do impact their development practices, often putting their players behind the 8 ball.
No doubt...
What I meant if the player is good enough, which team they come from shouldn't rule them out...

Both O'Sullivan and Gallagher have been invited to the draft combine so someone is interested in having a look...

Hewett's disposal was very good playing for WA against Victoria, there does not appear to be apparent weakness in that area.

I really like the look of hewett.

His slightly stocky build, agility, evasiveness and general movement reminds a bit of Lochie Neale.

In the highlights of the Vic metro game his kicking looks ok. You naturally have to see more to be sure but nothing put me off there.

The other guy lm interested is hollands. Only read about him but like the idea of Carlton picking up a guy with good endurance, 2 way running and good skills. Waiting to see his highlights.

Geez that was a good top 10, Lukosious has been a massive disappointment though.
Lukosious is one of the best kicks in the AFL and he will go on to be a very good player when G.C. stop shifting him around to cover their weaknesses....

From what I've seen of him the idea that "Lukosious being a good kick" is one of the biggest myths in football.

Lukosious would dominate in an another environment, he needs a change, of scenery.
Just watch Rankine‘s progress once he’s settled in Adelaide, it may take a season, but no doubt about it, both will do much better in a different football & team player set up.

Compare Pioneers players to the players coming out of the Swans academy. Multiple players ready to contribute in their first year. Well developed.

No doubt at all - I wouldn't be writing off any player outright, their players are genuinely underdeveloped and less professional though which does have a significant impact on how they project.
The Pios are a genuine concern with players now moving to Ballarat/Wangaratta from their region to avoid the program which tells you a reasonable amount about how the development pathway is viewed.
