All the talk at this stage, is Acres is our only move in the trade period...
As a guess, IMO the likelihood is Fogarty will be cut, Setterfield kept and Curnow to the rookie list... That would leave us with...
Trade
Pick 28 > Acres
Picks
10,28, 62 & 64
We may get pick 37 compo for Jones...
But highly doubt we get anything, Dogs will just get Jones as a DFA... Getting him as a DFA, will dilute their own FA Johannisen compo...
4x senior spots
Delisted (Jones, Williamson, Newnes, Fogarty, E.Curnow (rookie) & Stocker)
Added - Owies & Acres
0x rookie spot
Delisted (McDonald, Parkes & Hayes) (3 spots + 2x over limit MSD)
Added - Ed Curnow
The numbers could change...
If any Cottrell, Boyd or LOB have been upgraded, or a player/s are traded out...
My question to everyone...
With the use of trading or keeping picks 10,28, 62 & 64 & any future picks...
How would we maximise our draft hand, to get the best players we can for our remaining 4 picks?
and what player do you think we will get at each pick?

Dunno where all this DFA Jones talk has come from - the AFL has already said that they're allowing him to move as a UFA this year given the extenuating circumstances of his retirement. He retired, we're not delisting him. He's only "on the list" because his retirement came after the final list lodgement, but that doesn't change the fact that he officially retired.
If WB want Jones it's as a UFA, and it potentially offsets the pretty moderate compo they might have gotten for Johannisen.
Could be, has most of the attributes. Just watching the under 18 games, I actually looked at him with consideration to the role. Impressed by him, but was no comparison between him and Darcy Edmends when talking specifically if a wing. Edmends is a ready made winger. Holds width, genuine, quality two sided disposal. I am surprised he hasn’t been talked up.Arrow - anyone. Could Hotton be a high HF/Wing?

We need to regenerate our KPP this year or next (would suggest a forward minimum this year), if we offload a couple of depth mids, a “balanced”, perhaps outside leaning mid is also a priority.
Hotton would be a decent each way bet, although must admit I consider him more second round than first. In bygone eras, he would be your classic second rover, good enough around the ground, but relied upon fir a regular goal or three when “resting”. No slouch overhead for his height. May (probably) be a but of a reach, but not beyond possibility to develop in a “Tobyesque” manner.
Wow, that is an inadvertent talk up as I wrote and thought about the player. Might have to change my second rounder thoughts.
Love Keeler on face value. One for the recruiters and psychologists to assess. Has been long (years) mentioned as a sublime talent. SA key talls were being hyped in top 5 early in the season (Scully and Lemmey) Keeler was discussed as next in line due only to his apparent lack of motivation and commitment. Was regularly talked up as having the most upside.Thoughts on Isaac Keeler?
Paddy Ryder Mk. 2? (which is a positive imo)

The Paddy Ryder reference is absolutely appropriate. Looks more likely to be X-factor forward, but likely to thrive on having the freedom to roam around the ground. On face value, grew during the carnival and in fairness his commitment on face value shouldn’t be questioned. Kids can develop a lot between 15 and 18, he may be a generational talent.
“Smart money” suggests best left to one of the SA clubs (think is Adelaide NGA), but may be a gamble worth taking. Idealistically could be a great foil for TDK in a couple of years, and we absolutely need at least one young developing key forward for structure in our seconds if nothing else. (I really like Phoenix Foster who is a similar, but less spectacular type of forward/ruck).
On the back of the Stocker “failures” it would be brave for our recruiters to draft the “enigma” of the draft class. Monster upside though.
100%Starting to come around to what Arr0w has been saying. If Busslinger is there for our first pick, we should take him.
You mean like Mitch McGovern who we traded to Carlton despite having 2 years left on his contract, who you paid $800K per season for 5 years, for Pick 13 (that became Pick 16)
The only reason you paid McGovern that much was because you had cap space, what you paid in draft picks was his actual value, and even then it was overrated.
Rankine warranted is younger, and he had a decent back half to the season, but he is nowhere near worth Pick 5 based on his current output.
We're only paying him $700-$800K per year because we're probably already struggling to pay the min 95% cap, and it's probably going to be heavily front-ended. What we're paying him does not come close to his trade value (which IMO is around Pick 10-15)
Paywall.
Sounds like a level headed lad....
Watch game from 1.30 - wins his own ball from the ruck contest!
Thoughts on his awareness? I’ve only seen one game of his but that worried me.Burst, speed is elite, endurance is AFL standard

Yep, you get them while they are there, IMO. It might be different if we had a particular draft smoky in mind, who we a confident will still be there with a later pick, but I doubt it, it would be a chance thing at best.Agree with the KPP...
Keeler or Busslinger (if he slides)
Quality KPP don't grow on trees or every team would have them...
Delayed answer gathering thoughts.Any views on Hustwaite? Tall, poised, good kick.
Vic metroWhat games would I watch when looking at Oli Hotton?
Second or third rounder, I would think. Question is, assuming we get Acres, would we want another winger with the possibility of the Camporeale boys the following year. I really like Edmends, but it may not be prudent to overload and unbalance the list further. If we go a tall with our 1st, Edmends will/should be their for our 2nd and I rate him in the 18-23 range
