Well you can't put a foot wrong if you don't move, but not moving means no chances of taking a step forward either.

Some would argue they moved first and are now paying the tax for those moves.

I don't think 15 for richmonds F1 is actually a bad offer, especially when it comes with a warning of what would happen if they didnt accept.

But the nuance is that Sydney had second pick (17) directly before GWS (18).

Was Sydney threatening to bid on Rowston at 17 if they didn't trade that as well? If not and Sydney wouldn't have bid at 17, for me that is very questionable.

No idea, think we were just planning to be annoying in the end albeit we’d have been happy with either first. Think the opening bid would have been the better one lol.

Maybe we rated him the best midfielder (quite possible). Not sure him and a small forward are the same. I was surprised we didn’t bid on Davey if we went Konstanty though.

Questionable as in tampering? Its very manipulative I agree. Im assuming Sydney would've been happy to take Richmonds F1 in exchange for 15. In that case GWS would've got 2 picks (Konstanty, Weddle) in before Sydney had the chance to threaten to bid on Rowston again at 17. GWS had 18 and 19 after that and still would've been in a better position to make some moves. The way they just decided to match wasnt the best use of their draft hand imo

They didn't do anything wrong. The only ones who did something wrong was the Giants for not preparing for this situation, and then folding. They should have declined to match and got the players they wanted most.

I haven't looked through the whole thread so he may have been mentioned already, but interested to know where people think Henry Hustwaite will land (and when).

His mum teaches at the school my kids go to and so my boys are pretty interested in where he's likely to go in the draft. Cheers.

Moved on two good servants who are not part of the future. Brought in Meek, Amon, Stephens and 2 1st round picks and still have a pick in each round next year. Giving up a 2nd rounder to Sydney is fairly moot as McCabe will eat those picks up anyway. Strongly doubt we will use the other one either

The faux concern is cute but as a supporter, im bloody chuffed.

Giants and North going hard at the draft which is just what they need too.

Special mention to the swans the mad bastards! Suprised they didn't bid on Davey too..

We did offer them a deal how they could trade up to our pick…they refused. So we bid. Not as if they haven’t bid on our players, Blakey was one.

As a guess 26-40, early third round at the latest. He’s a tough one to place.
