How anyone can judge Clark on his last two injury ruined seasons is beyond me.

Use Cripps as an example. Last year many commentators were saying he was washed up and playing like an old man with his back injury. Some were calling for him to relinquish the captaincy to Walsh. Fast forward 12 months and a fully fit Cripps has just won the Brownlow.

No way would I trade Clark until he's had a good run at it. I don't want to see him go elsewhere and play 150-200 games for another club.

I've heard that tune too many times already.
This.

Because clubs openly chased those guys. We went hard at Hill for 6 months and offered him a 900k deal.

We've told clubs Clark is available

Believe what you like mate, but if you genuinely believe we are going to get anything close to the Cerra deal, I feel you'll end up very disappointed

when have we told clubs Clark is available?

see if we've done this, i 100% agree with you, and if thats the case the list manager position is untenable. because the outcome from that is exactly as you described it diminishes his value.

if we cannot get the same outcome as cerra and weller, then we've absolutely cooked this.

Just to clarify.

I’m going to go with his AGENT has and we haven’t spoken directly to another club about Clark.

No, in the original article.

We have already begun to identify several areas that need to be and will be improved. The end result will be a go-forward strategy that will have the united support of management and the Board and hopefully will give us all confidence that we can deliver the success our members crave before too long.

“We are desperate to get better, and we are determined to start – in what will be our 150th year – to make clear to everyone that our on-field future will be much stronger than our past.”

The club intends to share the outcomes of this process with its members at the conclusion of the review.
This is absolutely positive from the club to be doing this, so different from the Saints of old. Hiding and running away. The club had or have some inherent issues, which they are identifying and actioning. Which is far more positive than some of the doomsdayers on here

Cera vs Clark:

100% we are in the same ball park as Cera here.

Clark vs Weller.

Same deal.

cerra got freo: pick 6!!!
weller got freo: Pick 2!!!!

and we are just accepting it will happen for a future 2nd rounder.

i'm sorry but its just not going to be acceptable to anyone if that happens.

Gags can over pay all he likes when he's trading in contracted players, because he wants to get it done to improve the list... but if he's also letting contracted players go for massive unders... we are in for a world of hurt.

maybe it's time we get a new list manager if this happens.

Yup a real positive to give away a pick 7 for a second rounder while contracted.
Hopefully King for a future 4th as well

We won't get near the same as those 2

Clearly the noise has gettable has come from somewhere

He's only decided to meet with clubs now and doesn't actually have a club to go to yet

Not sure it could be any more obvious that we have given him a nudge towards the door

Can't even compare it to the Weller scenario

Let’s accept he is going.

But the cost doesn’t make sense.

How does a 2023 second round pick - even if it’s pick 19/20/21

Help us next year?

we are also torching a year of development when Ratts has 2 years left plus a bunch of ageing players in the prime of their football.

its literally disasterous list management.
