The player has to agree to the deal.Well, then there’s 17 teams that can do that.
Extend the deal out to however many years you’re comfortable with if that’s the case, and so minimise the impact on your TPP.
There must be another constraint otherwise we’d be having 17 teams linked to the deal, rather than just the four or so with salary cap room.
It ultimately means he gets paid more money.
As a hypothetical.
If he is owed 1.3m over the next 2. = 650k per year.
You can agree to pay him $1.5m over 3 = 500k per year.
