Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

Adelaide smashed it with Curtin and Edwards.
Probably the best value picks in the draft so far.

Windsor a bolter.
I really liked the look of him around the 12 mark.

They needed to address their midfield. If Curtin does indeed move in there (which I feel he has the potential to) and Edwards and Dowling (from last season) come on as players then they'll have a midfield as tall as ours.

Interesting times ahead for the Crows. I actually like what they've done though.

Yeah I think he moves into the midfield as well.

North, Hawks, Dogs (I know they had Croft coming) all screaming for KPD and didn’t take him, and the Cats pretty much said we rate O’Sullivan higher as a KPD by trading back with the Crows.

We weren’t the only ones.

Crows pick a unknown Oscar Ryan with their last 1st round pick.

Can't see his name in any of the rankings, need to check rookieme. Wonder if they felt someone else was looking at him too, could have traded that pick to us for 44 & F2 and we could have taken Logan Morris.

Oscar is a gun and very flexible he was the one I was hoping to slide for us before we picked up Dear.

I know it’s a good story, but I can’t see why we would be needing to draft Tew. What need does he fill on the list?
Another half back? Why?
You take talent and potential if it’s there after pick 40 in a shallow draft. Every chance to develop skills to play further afield, as we still hope with CJ. If we can land TJ and Dear tonight that would be a great haul. I’m otherwise hopeful but doubtful Archer Reid slips through to our next pick. Like Moir he was touted as top 10 pre season

I don't think there have been too many draft sliders that have proven their eventual drafting position wrong, particularly when they haven't slid based on rumours like Jack Darling did. He's the only bloke I can think of that went much later than expected and still eked out a good career.

If TJ slips through to us I'm sure we will commit to taking him.
Otherwise if TJ is taken, Ethan Phillips would be a good fit for defensive depth.

Dear to be taken with our last pick.

I can't wait to see our new forwardline in action with the additions of Chol, Gunston, Ginnivan, and Watson. We might actually start kicking decent scores again.

Phillips will be SSP

4 Gold Coast players and they did not even have a first round pick - AFL is a joke
Unless the provisions for the northern clubs change, Academy players will be the norm up there. A natural flow of talent far superior to down here will flow. I have been on about this for a while now. The northern boom in AFL participation, if left unchecked, will have a detrimental effect on clubs like the HFC.

It's already at our doorstep

But look at what the Age is saying this morning, good journo to, Dodo is a hero, continuing his long trait of providing the talent the coaching panel either misuses or ****s up.

I hope he somehow continues as their list manager and recruiter, he will keep them anchored to the bottom for a few years more :D
