Y'all got anymore of those trade and free agents posts....

Post-GF it'll heat up once again.

Jed Adams came 3rd in the GF sprint. Beat Ed Richards, Josh Weddle etc. Not bad for a key defender.

Satisfied with a top 4 finish. Trac would be proud.

Clarry missing 10 games straight with a hamstring did him and us no favours leading into the finals. No midfielder is going to hit their peak with that kind of extended mid season lay off. People seem to gloss over this fact and don’t cut him enough slack imo.
He was was rusty af
His disposal has been pox for years now.

I'm not saying he's overrated or doesn't deserve the awards he's won. I'm venting my frustration that he hasn't taken that step from elite to goat. That's unfair on the individual now that I type it out, as that final step to goat is exponentially hard to achieve.

I wouldn't take Oliver for picks. I would trade him for a gun player to fill holes elsewhere other than midfield. The way the collective midfield stood up in Oliver's absence can't be ignored.

He definitely reverted to his long bombs when he came back from injury this year but prior to that I thought he’d done very well ironing it out of his game.

Only way you trade a player like Oliver is if he wants to go or we know he isn’t going to fully shake his hamstring issue.

The Pies won their 3 finals by 12 points combined. Obviously you have to get over the line, know how to manage games etc, but that does provide a little comfort that we're maybe not as far away as we'd thought.

I think you meant to write “do you really believe that West Coast wouldn’t trade pick 1 for 2 & 3”.

It’s not certain. That’s why I posted that it may or may not get it done. Personally I’d do it but WC might have a higher value on Harley Reid than I do. Certainly your opening suggestion of picks 2 & 13 for Reid was way off the radar.

Also, initial contracts for first round picks is now 3 years not 2 years, thereby reducing the risk of interstate draftees wanting out. Even without that change you can’t have your drafting dictated by alleged ‘go home’ factor. You may as well pack up and shut the doors if you’re going to cave in to those fears.

Suggest you don’t post laugh emojis until you’ve thought things through or you’ll just come across as a dolt.
Thanks for the advice. Wouldn't want to come across as a dolt!

So anyways, back to those trades rumours and stuff that this thread is for....

Heard one second hand today, from a source that goes at about a 75% strike rate, about us going very hard for a key forward that has been mentioned as a rumour already but tbh I didn't even take any notice of at the time. Player is contracted so don't know how much of a chance we have, but we're gonna throw a lot at it apparently.

Not that one key forward fixes our problems, but I'm hoping it's true even if it doesn't happen as it means we're trying to make things happen in the background.

Does his surname rhyme with Grinch?

Is this Duursma guy in the draft related to the flog at Port Adelaide, bow and arrow guy? He sucks. Completely useless.
No way I want anyone related to that tool at the Dees, even if this kid is not related they have the same name and that's enough to make me uncomfortable sorry. Hard pass.

Wouldn’t mind testing Cam Rayner narrative. Brisbane isn’t working out off him, 11 touches is an absolute choke for a pick 1 in a big game.

He was terrible today. Got some dangerous attributes but doesn’t look fit enough to me. Lacks intensity, just coasts along.

Surely you just say which player it is?

I fail to see anyway that us going out in straight sets 2 years in a row has any relevance to them winning a flag by tight games making us close to them. We're going down they're a side on the up

Not when you're making it up. It's just a generic stab in the dark so after we get some bloke like Casboult on a 2 year deal he can say see I said we'd get a KF give me some ITK credits.

It’s been said by others but if all we end up with in trade is Shane McAdam I’ll start a riot. Cats at their peak add blokes like Isaac Smith and Jeremy Cameron. Pies get a Brownlow medallist in Mitchell who was close to BOG in the Granny. Tigers got Lynch in his prime.

Do something Melbourne.

I know 3 for 5 + 13 has been mentioned, what about 3 + Thomas for 5, 13 and Grundy compo (or 25, whichever is less)?

We get a proper chance for McKercher or Duursma, they can then take Sanders with a more appropriate pick.

All of those guys said they were leaving well before the end of the season. You really think 1 or 2 weeks preparation went into getting them? We cant magically make game changers choose us (and why would anyone right now anyway?)

Take our picks to the draft. Better chance of finding game changers there.

Not sure why Jason Taylor and Tim Lamb are so damn passive. We weren't linked to Koschitzke, Chol or Buku Khamis. Or Doedee. Just Shane bloody McAdam and a 35 yr old Hawkins.

Unless we're still trying to get Harley Reid, it doesn't really add up.
