I agree but I'm still happy with Tholstrup

He is fine and im alright with selecting him, just feel a little let down by who is available at 11, if we were able to get up to 10 instead of 11 we would have been in business. I feel there is a tier drop at 10.

I do like Tholstrup's attitude and personality though, he would become a fan fav in no time im sure so that is nice.

I would say we have our reasons if thats the case, we've never been shy on taking WA kids, gotta think we believe he will get homesick. To me hes a top 3 player. The fact other Melbourne clubs ahead of us are willing to pass on him also suggests there is something there.

They probably rate Windsor/Curtin equally but Windsor being Victorian removes any doubt. We are still taking Tholstrup who is a Western Australian.

I find it funny that all the talk of west coast needing to trade 1 for multiple picks to get Curtin, has turned into west coast keeping pick 1 and could still end up with Curtin later for similar value. Would be a good get for coasters to end up with Reid and Curtin.

If Curtin was to drop that far and WC want him a team like Geelong would be in a great position to take WC future first and a later first round this draft.

I’d expect most clubs after pick 4 would be putting in a call to eagles to find out how much they want Curtin if he’s still on the board.

Let's pretend GWS were bluffing on Windsor. It still doesn't mean anything, if we like him and don't think he'll be there at 11 we have to take him at 6 regardless.

Sounds like Kevin Sheehan is more of a Kynan Brown fan than most, lol. That being said, he compares basically every player to a bonafide star: Kevin Sheehan's top 40 prospects in the 2023 AFL Draft

Kevin Sheehan's job is to talk up the kids, although he's turned it into an art form and pretty much claims every single kid will end up in the Hall of Fame

We traded up to give ourselves more choice of a bigger pool of players. Clubs have a fairly good idea of which players other clubs want, so moving up from 14 to 11 could be a very good move.

Only time will tell though

Yeah I was a bit melt-y about not taking him but if the other clubs are passing on him too he’s definitely looking to be in WA.

I’ll trust JT and the team even if I’m unsure, as I’ve said before they’re the strongest part of the club.

We got a pair of serviceable wingmen for future 3rd rounders and blokes called Howes and Billings ready to come in.

Still begs belief we are using a top 6 pick on another wingman when we have a disastrous forward line, no clean users on the inside, no up and coming inside mids, 2 KPDs about to depart with **** all ruck stocks after Gawn.

Then we traded 2 2nd rounders to move from pick 14 up to 11, only to take a bloke who isn’t even rated in the top 15 anyway and has go home factor attached.

Jesus Christ we better be looking to do something other than what these mock drafts are saying.

Doesn't mean much, but it tickles me that every single player in the first round is compared to an elite footballer, aside from Windsor who plays like Justin McInerney and Tholstrup who plays like Cam Rayner.

I want to believe that our good recruiting will continue, but I also wouldn't be at all shocked if the top down thinking at the club is that everything is groovy with the engine and we just need to replace a handful of rusty parts. Every single piece of media from Goodwin and Pert's 'interview' and down would suggest that, whilst our weak as water finals performances two years in a row would suggest otherwise.

Nevertheless, that's not Windsor or Tholstrup's fault. I'll get behind them and hope that we're good, but I'm not feeling it with us next season.
