Not really sure what their test status has to do with their current appearance in an ODI tournament.
Their progress as a test team seems more or less in line to a lot of other sides when they’ve first entered international cricket. New Zealand took 26 years and almost 50 matches before they won a test. Sri Lanka won two of their first 46 and took 16 years to win away from home. They still haven’t won a test match in Australia.
India won 5 matches in their first 63, all at home, in a period of 29 years, and didn’t win an away test for their first 36 years.
Don’t really know why Bangladesh are so much more of an embarrassment.
