Do you have a link to the article? I can't find anything on Google or the AFL website. Not doubting you, just trying to find the article you referenced.
From the article below:

"For instance, it would have allowed Adelaide to list one of Rory Sloane or Taylor Walker as a veteran for 2024 and opened up another spot on their primary list. The idea was designed to keep veterans in the game without sacrificing a list spot that a youngster may have taken, with the veteran’s full payments still counted in the salary cap."

There's a link in the post above

Still asking for links I see?
Yet you don’t give a s**t when we provide them and they don’t support your view.
Sorry, I don't often read your posts. What are you talking about?

The only time I remember links coming up and being useful was when someone gave the link to the Dawson and Nicks press conference and they shot down the suggestion that Dawson had told Nicks to play him as a mid, admitting it was a joke.

Back on track...

The Herald Sun reported the Crows had flagged interest securing South Australian-raised Demons Harry Petty or Tom Sparrow as compensation for losing McAdam, who’s played 50 games in five seasons at West Lakes. But Melbourne is keen to only part with “a third-round pick or low-round pick swap”, according to the report.

The Herald Sun reported the Crows expect rival offers for Doedee to be as long as five years and as much as $600,000 per season. Should that deal come to fruition, the Crows would likely be handed a second-round compo pick, considering that's what the Lions received last year for losing Dan McStay, who had been offered the same deal length and salary by Collingwood.

They've lifted that straight from the Jon Ralph article in the HS yesterday

Wow, you asked him for a link, he provided it, now you claim you didn’t read it.

Pathetic.

That would be a great result but surely it will be a third round compo pick

So why bother asking for a link from me repeatedly if you aren’t going to read my replies.
Yes it took me awhile to find it but I finally did I even tagged you in it.
It was the interview with Dawson saying he trained less in the midfield this preseason than last.

I think he means band 3 (approx pick 30) .. not 3rd round

I don't know the band system. Just reckon receiving a second rounder would be amazing but more likely a third rounder. Why? Because we got a packet of chips for Brouch and also McAdams age. But mainly because crom

Regarding the band system...

Band 1 is end of 1st round
Band 2 is after our original 2nd round (so pick 30)
Band 3 is end of 2nd round

Because he’s lying. He clearly read it but because it doesn’t support the Nicks defence he’s trying to push, he’s denying all knowledge.

It really is pathetic. If you’re too afraid to acknowledge that we might have messed up, why bother posting on this forum. Or better still, stick to my awesome positive thread.

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if we get a little leg up on the Mcadam compo. Olsen would be all over it. Secret herbs and spices and all that.
McAdam is a direct trade with Melbourne .. there won't be any secret herbs and spices

And there won't be any secret herbs and spices in any compo we get for Doedee - I'd be happy with band 3, and won't be surprised if its band 4

They also structured his contract in such a way that completely F****d us

Because there was little to no interest in him. If there was a better contract with better terms Crouch would have taken it. Saints ended up doing whatever they wanted because there was no competition for his signature

A Smith and Wesson beats four aces, but unfortunately in this case Melbourne hold all the aces and the gun.

When an out of contract player wants out, and nominates a destination club, the losing club doesn't usually get fair value.
Yep.

We're pushing out two players who have been in our best team over the last 3-5 years in exchange for two tenths of **** all. In a shitty draft year.

We'll end up with another Ronin O'Connor in exchange for the bloke who was touted as our next captain.

With no one decent likely to be headed our way, it seems like our list will be weaker in 2024 than it was this year.
