Do you have a link to the article? I can't find anything on Google or the AFL website. Not doubting you, just trying to find the article you referenced.
From the article below:

"For instance, it would have allowed Adelaide to list one of Rory Sloane or Taylor Walker as a veteran for 2024 and opened up another spot on their primary list. The idea was designed to keep veterans in the game without sacrificing a list spot that a youngster may have taken, with the veteran’s full payments still counted in the salary cap."

There's a link in the post above

Maybe we are 1 pick short in this draft..yes that means another player is delisted but if we were lucky enough to get

10..wilson
14..demattia
20..moir
20's pick..goad
I don't get the Demattia fascination ....I would definitely give Moir a chance at #20

My gut says we take a RUCK at #14 (blowing out to #17/18).....good Draft to take a Ruck

That Ruck will be a big help in 2028
I’ve been calling for drafting a developing ruck for years, there have been some available late.

“We don’t need to draft one, we can trade in one from another club, like most clubs do”

This year:

“Let’s use a top 20 pick on a draft”

You couldn’t make this shit up

You're expecting one of our Draft picks to make an impact in 2024 ?

No.

If not in a good year for Rucks .....then when ?

You want to use a first round pick on a ruck, the slowest developing of all positions?

This draft hand doesn’t do much for us until Tex is watching games in his slippers and dressing gown

Forlorn hope, but maybe we can package all 3 for someone at the pointy end who might be helpful sooner

No.

At #18 ....yes

What's your alternate plan to replace ROB in 3 years

I'd be fine with drafting a good one like Goad appears to be and if its 2027 when he is truly ready that sort of coincides with the end of obrien's days..but it would have been good to have that extra 2nd rounder as i am very curious about Moir and see his upside worth risking pick 20 on.

The issue is the inconsistencies of some posters, have defended the club not drafting a young developing ruck for a number of years, now think it’s a good idea to use a top 20 pick on one.

AFL players are so entitled these days, macadam crying over another year on his contract and because we didn’t offer it early enough [emoji15]. I just heard Brockman from Hawthorn wanted to leave because they didn’t offer him a contract early enough!! These players are so weak minded. The world is full on entitled rich sooks

I don't really see how a player going after and obtaining the best contract they can is them being "weak minded". Surely "weak minded" would be accepting less when a better offer is on the table?

As for being "entitled", if they weren't worth the contracts they demand, clubs wouldn't offer them.

If we felt he was worth keeping, it was up to us to make him an offer compelling enough to keep him here - and that includes tangibles like length and dollar figure, and intangibles like when and how we present it to him. Often the latter is the difference, making someone feel wanted, or that they have a place in the side, or they have better business or lifestyle opportunities, etc.

And if we got outbid, then either we didn't rate him as highly as someone else, or we didn't go hard enough to keep him. Plain and simple.

TT says hi.

He even started a game last year in the ruck.

Yeah, it's looking rather likely we see ruck as TT end position. Too much is lining up at the moment, what with his strangely low TOG% usage, us targeting Chol, us not drafting a developing ruck for a few years and choosing to resign Strachan.

If we have the three picks and that is what we are going to use, then we better use pick 20 on Moir and roll the dice. Strong 2 sided player, local lad, at that stage of the draft worth it.

Unless of course Hamish is hellbent on three KPDs with depression
I still like Moir - I guess its how i like KK on an AA flop

Will they be Tasmanians?

Well he’ll be ready to tap it to the midfield we’ll be about to start planning for.

Ha ha glad you have finally come around. He’ll still get forward for parts of the game but in the the main He’ll just be be where the game dictates

2023

Pick 10. Wilson
Pick 14. Tholstrup

2024

FA. Hayward
Welsh FS
2024 and 2024 first (2023 pick 20 traded) to Dees for Oliver

2025

Petty FA
2025 first and 2026 first for Lukosius

2026 side

Worrell ~ Petty ~ Michalanney
Milera ~ Murray ~ Hinge
Dawson ~ Oliver ~ Soligo
Thilthorpe ~ Rachele ~ Pedlar
Hayward ~ Lukosius ~ Tholstrup
Rankine ~ Fogarty ~ Welsh
Jones ~ Nankervis ~ Dowling ~ Wilson
Keays

Oliver trade most likely to not happen but equally you could foresee McCluggage coming in place as a FA and instead trading up for Draper or Hargrave who replaces Dowling, Keays or Jones.
Charlie Ballard will be in our backline by 2026
