Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

Not sure if this is the correct thread, couldnt find a dedicated one anyway. Id like to congratulate Nathan Wilson for his superb application and dedication to the Freo cause. I love this guy. The best bogan that ever joined us, who can forget his first interview when he arrived, bagging the Toast. He was courageous, especially for his size, had attitude, at his best he was one of our most outstanding rebounders, a beautiful 60m kick and a total team man. Never dropped his head when sent back to the Magoos, instead kept fit and concentrated on transferring his knowledge on to the Draper and Davies of this world. In the trenches I want Luke Ryan, Troy Cook and Wilson. What a shame we couldnt have honoured him for one last game against Port but nonetheless heres to a great servant of this club. Cheers Willo.

Yeah if the veterans list spot comes in I guess that frees up a place for Hamling, which I’d assume would be on minimum chips for the year ahead.
We still haven’t heard anything about Liam Reidy either who I believe was on a one year rookie deal.
So far at this stage:
OUT:
Henry
Colyer
Benning
Wilson

MAYBE OUT:
Hamling
Reidy
Williams

LIKELY IN:
Sharp (trade)
Banfield (RL to main list)
Treacy (RL to main list)

This would leave one main list place available in the national draft to pick a player. If hamling was added to the the rookie list in place of Banfield that would be 2.
Then we could delist Corbett and rerookie him (we have to do this as he’s contracted), freeing up a third ND selection.
There would be no room left on the rookie list then though unless Reidy was cut.

A veteran list spot to move Walters to would give us another main list spot that could be used in either the ND or rookie draft.

You aren’t taking into account that Freo are currently running 36+6

For the sake of the ND with the rookie promotions we will be assumed as running 38+4 and with the following list changes:
Out: Henry, Benning, Colyer, Wilson
In: sharp

ND: 3 selections
RD: 0 selections

Good chance Hamling makes his way via rookie list (35+5)

I’d also do the same with Corbett (36+6)

We will definitely use 3 ND selections.

Treacy...............His aerial work is particularly impressive.

Have to question this..............He drops marks inside the 50 that a power forward would hold. He should have had 2 more on Saturday.

All between the ears for Josh. Take him outside the 50 & he marks everything.
Same with his kicking. He could kick dead straight for 55 easily if he’s not in sight of goal.

Seen him do it in the WAFL.
I actually like him as 2nd ruck/extra mid. He’s terrific defensively around stoppages.

Would love to see more players playing in different roles during the game. It’s JL’s biggest weakness. Taking too long to move the magnets around. Some of those losses where we were getting killed at center bounce.
Young, Treacy, Jackson, Switta, Shultz. All players who could have rotated through as mids with Serong, Brayshaw, O’Meara all taking spells forward.

40+. He hasn't played every game this season and some games he doesn't show up. He is quite raw which is why clubs don't rate him higher. Sanchez and Moir are probably ranked higher by recruiters. Since Emmett has exploded, we can and should take a risk on this guy.

I heard club allowed him to stay with family for some time during the season. But I am not sure it is the same period he was off or due to being injured or combination of both.
