Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

Well we've seen what he can do in the Sydney game. To be fair our whole forwardline has been terrible over the last month. He is also evey young. I still think he has got it in him to succeed.

Our contract talks taking place during the bye, after we had just won four in a row and everyone was at their best, was in hindsight a very bad idea.

Surely Tabs will be considering his options? He’s hardly going to spend the rest of his career at peel us he? Too good for that. Plenty clubs would look at him for a third rounder

Wow. If only they had a week off after that heavy effort to compose themselves and relax. I'm sure that would have made them better.

Yeah I expected 2 years. Feels like we're being generous with contracts this year. Ryan, Fyfe, Walters, Draper, Worner, Switta, all getting a year more than they should have. Could've used some of that last year.

Personally I would have been ok with Fyfe retiring. Walters on his day is good but looks terrible on days like today. Feel like we are screaming out for a marking key forward atm and maybe a couple of decent smalls.

I think Fyfe should've got a year with a trigger. He actually looked very good in the pre-season up forward before his foot issue started.

Walters too should be on one years. Was our best finals player last year, and has been very good this year, even when he's not getting much of the ball he's kicking goals. Hasn't missed a set shot all year too. But the decline comes quickly after 30, and just last year people were calling for him to retire. Yet he's still the only small forward we have with an actualy goal sense. The others are just "hard workers."

Must hit the gym properly to be better at contested ball.
Good story on Daicos and his work ethic to improve.
Stop the body magic, training outside the club and have our own programs.
Don Pyke’s story early WC is where Freo is at.
Then Malthouse taught West Aussies how to play, train VFL.
Those kids ended up bullying the Vics
and scared the AFL to a second licence.

FWIW this is the year to try and bank on ourselves

Demons had their big drop in 2019 and picked up Dogga early, they thought they weren't as bad as they performed that year and also traded their f1 to get Kozzy pickett

The next year they still didn't quite get up so they went again and brought in some more firsts for their F1



Basically what I'm saying is, we should be looking at trading our f1 for a first rounder this year, our f1 and the picks we wont use like the 2 in the 40s, try and get a top 10 pick and then hope to bounce next year

I think you're underrating his defending tbh

Without him plugging holes we probably get smashed in a few more games this year, he has also played some good roles as KPD

It's all well and good getting intercepts, but they're completely useless if the ball ends up straight back in there every time you dispose of it.

I'm worried its a problem with system and structure now, whenever he looks up there is little movement, it ends up going long to a pack or short to the one player that the oppo leaves open.

We need to rejig something up the ground

We’ve got to stop making excuses for him and realise it’s a massive problem he needs to fix. If he can’t fix he can **** off quite frankly. I’m sick of him. Most overrated Freo player ever and it’s not even a contest.

I'm just not sure there was, not a realistic one atleast, I said I wasn't gonna bother with the replay this week but I might take a look sometime later this week and focus on Ryan, just felt he had very little options all day
