Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

Only problem is most of the top 10 are tasmanians,vic metro and a few vic country except Curtin. Tasmanians are real risk.. How is next years draft ? I think that also same except it may not have tasmanians.

I would still think this is a viable option.
Normally I’m like you when it comes to trading out a F1. Not in favour almost all the time.
But this could be a bit different. Circumstance have meant as Snuffaluphagus had outlined very well in here, that the suns have enough points and need future picks.
We both agree that the draft capital from these two drafts 2023 and 2024 for Fremantle is likely to be not great. The best aspect is next years F1 if we are shit.

This year we have pick 21 and some late picks.
Next year we have F1 and F2 and late picks.

Where do you see us finishing next year? I’d be hopeful at worst it will be 11th.

That’s pick 8.
So do you swap pick 8 (2024) and pick 21 (2023 but likely to be at least pick 27 on the night)

For me that’s a yes. We should get another elite player with pick 5. We are highly likely to just get a role player with pick 21. Next year if we bounce back, there will be no more elite talent coming in via the draft for some time.

I'd honestly kill to find out if we are even looking at trying to get that GC pick. We honestly might have plans for that future 1st next year in a trade or the like. Flanders is the key in what GC do with the pick, we really want him to leave. Not only because it gives us a shot at that pick but it means Dogs cant do their two firsts for the GC pick and opens up one of them for a Henry trade (with later points back obviously)

Yeah but as Snuff has said - more picks in 2023 are no good to gold coast. They dont want them.
Gold Coast have 4 draft picks already known from their academy in the top 30, with 3 likely top 15.
It’s a unique set of circumstances .

He’s no bolter. He’s right smack bang in the range of our first and second picks. I like the look of him and he would be a nice addition to our forward line options
