It does work like that but what do you mean by safer?

They will still need a significant amount of points in this draft so changing their bigger source of points - pick 4 - into something for next year would make it hard for them to match the amount of bids they will have.
Maybe wrong choice of words.
More beneficial would probably be better.
If they can trade to get first round picks next year and a multitude of seconds and third rounders this year (potentially which we will have due to players leaving) then they get to use first round picks (albeit a year later) Rather than just lose them to points.

Whereas if they get multiple first round picks this year, they will get eaten up by bid matching and they won't have any benefit next year.

I would play Hill as the High HF (and Henry on the Wing as:
1/ From what I have seen this is the role that suit him best and where he plays his best football
2/ He can kicks goals as we saw against GWS
3/ Going by the Freo Board goalkicking is not what was hoped it would be for Henry
4/ Henry is good out of the backline. Whereas Hill often makes me nervous when he pushes back there.

He's still young so not the finished article.

I love the father son rule.
We’ve just been unlucky with it.
I can’t wait to have the 3 Riewoldt boys in the red white and black. (Hopefully)

You mean the boys currently living in america? (presumably watching and playing american football)

They'll all probably become the greatest athletes this country has ever produced....and play nfl

Maybe I've not watched enough North games but Ben Mackay seems seriously over rated from what I've seen. Even his brother, although a star on his day, can have some dud games. Not convinced Carlton aren't a better team with Charlie flying solo.

He's very good on his day but quite injury prone.

That's where the limitations of the amount of picks they can hold pre draft come in. They removed that rule during Covid because of the reduced list spots but I'm pretty sure they have brought it back. It allowed you to trade for extra picks once the draft has started but not hold extra beforehand.

If GC intend on matches bids at say pick 2, pick 10 and pick 17, they will still need picks that hold high amounts of points or they would be delisting 10 players. As an example, a bid at pick 2 with the 20% discount ends up being 2014 points which is roughly picks 26,29,34 and 65 with the draft pick calculator. Once you add in the next 2 bids, that's just too many picks to hold if they did it with only 2nd and 3rd rounders.

We'd have to trade something like our first and two second round picks.

Solution: we swap our #12 with their #4
Everybody is happy 😃😃😃

The draft is supposed to give access to the best talent to the teams that need it most - the Father-Son Rule works contrary to that, and as such should be abolished. It's not fair and if we ever benefit from it, it still won't be fair.
It will get abolished. The week before we are finally due to snag a superstar.

Brisbane get the other Ashcroft soon and a whole generation of golden era stars with kids coming up. Might be similar.

And they get their own academy up there as well. If they win the Flag they’ll have first access to a new crop of kids coming through. Plus they can still draft everywhere else. It’s a joke.

No discounts and no trading-out of the first round. Make them pay full price.

Better yet, stop the exclusive access to the academies. Enough of the largesse. Three of this year’s top 8 are on the charity gravy train.

Couldn't agree more.

When Harry McKay was subbed out last week it was clear that they couldn’t kick many goals when Curnow was pushing up the ground. They looked to really struggle without the twin towers. Nobody looked capable of taking a grab.

Carlton are overrated. They still rely on a core of top end talent. Yes, they have been winning, but the bottom part of their list still looks really flaky to me.

It's a scale though, my wife works with nuero-diverse patients. I'm sure you know it's a spectrum. A lot of people on the spectrum struggle with social stuff from talking over people, fixed interests to outright abruptness. It's fair assumption to make IMO. He might be a dickhead on top of everything but he probably does struggle with interactions.

If your daughter is a lawyer she's obviously very high functioning and hard to compare to a guy who comes across as quite obviously ND. Good on him for doing something he loves and making content. Doesn't hurt to be respectful towards him even if he does seem to be deliberately abrasive.
Indeed, everything you say is correct, however even for neuro typical individuals SM can be a difficult medium to navigate.
His abuse is atypical, and this is where their needs to be governorship intervention. It is no crime or 'condition' to be autistic, it means you are wired differently. However it does not give carte blanche for abusive or poor behaviour.

I am actually a little concerned for his welfare. We all know the dissociative nature of social media and how it affects meaning and context. It also can cause real umbrage when someone is abused or insulted in most cases with this guy because the person disagreed with his view. He is well known and one day some fool will confront him, possibly violently. Social media doesn't diagnose its users, and other SM users don't know what condition someone abusing them has.
This is where his guardians should be monitoring his SM use and his interactions. It is a dangerous tool for someone incapable of understanding the nuance of its application.

“Promising St Kilda forward, Matthew Allison, is rumoured to be a player of interest for North Melbourne. Family ties plus the possibility of greater opportunities are believed to be the motivation behind the discussions between the club and the player’s manager. It is believed that North’s early third round pick would satisfy the Saints should Allison decide on a move.”
