D-Mac is a huge part of our side, I'd be devastated if he left. There's a reason why there are so many clubs interested in him despite him being so injury-prone. We'd have probably the competition's best wing partnership with both Wood and D-Mac at full fitness. One more year for him IMO to get over his injury troubles and prove himself to the new coaching staff.

Club needs to be ruthless, that includes players who are injury prone.

Dmac finally came good after 4 years on our list, then he got injured.

Has played 73 games in 7 years on our list.

Answered your own question didn’t you?

Clearly we are wanting to trade and deal.

Who apart from Gresham will leave is the real question? Paul Connors floated the idea of Billings looking about, but I dont know where the Howard talk came from? Plus we still have a number of other uncontracted players Clark, McKenzie, Jones, Coffield etc how many of them will remain?

Gonna be really interesting to see what happens with Coff. Couple of clubs circling. Think north would get it done with one of those future picks. But I think he is one we can least afford. Webster is 31 next year

I reckon a mid first.

We payed a late first. He has improved since then irrespective of how frustrated we are with him as a fan base
No chance we get that (imo of course). At best, we would have to shuffle back a decent pick (prob still worth it in this draft).

North have pick #14 which after all the academy bids will blow out to #17 - sounds about right for a contracted full back.

The next question is how we are going to balance the list numbers wise? We have already filled the Cat B position with the appointment of Liam O'Connell.

Lets say hypothetically we trade in Henry, Dow and Sheil and want to take 3-4 picks at the draft/s. Thats 3-4 more positions than we have on the list. We are consequently going to have to trade out or delist the equivalent number of players. Gresham = Essendon, Howard = Hawthorn/North Melbourne & Billings = Hawthorn/North Melbourne, or delist Allison or Highmore.

There's 2 more dates for delisting to come before trading takes place so that delisted players can nom for draft or otherwise.

At this stage, come Oct 6 for RFA and UFA instances, if you don't have a contract offered to you, you are on very shaky ground to be retained at current club. Is then dependent on trading as generally end Oct for prelim finalisation for list instances to attack the ND.

Thinking, Billings, Gresham & Jones will depart.
Maybe McKenzie.
Allison & Highmore delisted, Campbell maybe-dependant on who we could replace him with?

I took the wife to one of those old school banana fritter Chinese joints in the country recently. She's a bit of a food snob but got sentimental. It was deliciously terrible. Real chicken and sweetcorn and tinned Lychees and ice cream sort of joint with crass decor that looked like you get hand jobs with a massage.
Boom... the trade thread has turned into the Asian food thread nice😋
The Mayalasian restaurant on the westerns side, southern end of Kings Way in Glen Waverly is sensation btw 😊

When I was a teenager roaming the streets of Glen Waverley on a Friday night there were two choices. Lucky Palace Chinese and Pizza Mondo. That was it. Oh and Fish and Chips.
