Dowling, Murray, Nank and Ryan played pretty well. Curtin came into the game well after half time, as did the team in general. A terrible first quarter by the team. Dowling was a standout and deserves a chance in the AFL soon. Boyle did okay too. as did Edwards in fast bursts.

Sholl has had a 3 Brownlow vote game in the AFL. I understand people don't rate him here but he's definitely played influential games too. Not taking anything away from Dowling who was excellent.

Different type of players though. In the outside role, Sholl usually looks pretty dominant at sanfl level.

I agree Dowling deserves an AFL opportunity though, that was very impressive today.

Ha that’s if his lucky, those spots are reserved for only certain players down there. He’ll just be gaslighted by the coaches and told he still has things to work on still at SANFL level as he’s not in Nicks’ preferred top 25.

This is the problem that we’ve made for ourselves. We need Dawson in the middle and Laird and Crouch simply can’t play anywhere else. We are struggling to get midfield minutes for Rachelle, Soligo and Rankine now, so until we either leave out Laird or Crouch, or move one into the back line, there are no other options.

Most of them were chips around the backline, but he did get a few intercepts. I think he was pretty good in the second half for the most part. Played up the ground in the third quarter and grabbed a few intercepts across half-forward when the opposition were rebounding, and did some good defensive stuff in the final term. Probably still a way off from AFL but didn't look out of his depth.
