News 2024 fixture

Agree... the drip feeding of it every year in a desperate attempt to try stay in the news annoys the s**t out of me.

Also it is hard when they want you to commit to memberships before we see what we are getting, my own personal circumstances work around my better halfs work roster and that can mean I can't make every second weekend.. Would be great if we could see the whole fixture and where the games at home land etc etc to justify it all before they start taking the money

Absolutely.

With inflation, an increase in supply of seats at KP and the potential for a few lean years win-wise at the cats, there is a very real chance the club may not sell as many season seat memberships as they once projected. Us fans should continue to push to find out what the fixture is before renewing memberships, it may actually have some effect in coming years

It doesnt really worry me in that sense I'm either getting a 3 game or 6 game membership, has little to do with the fixure.

I'm just a really impatient person and wanna ****ing see the entire 23 rounds

I know i can just stop the auto renewal etc, but that is also a pain in the arse in itself, and then you can miss out on what you had locked in previously.
Getting hold of the club can be difficult and also sometimes the dates just get away from you and you miss the date to make changes.
Surely they can just release the fixture properly, then do the memberships in the week after and people can adjust and change as demands instead of the reverse and then having to try cop it sweet or deal with changes and talking to people that could have been avoided

The problem is ever so slowly - but relentlessly - the club couldn't care less about the fans now but they care very much about our money. I'd say it goes for all clubs, we really are just a source of income. They treat us like crap because they know most are still happy to turn up and/or pay up.

The earlier point is valid though; they can't just arrogantly assume we're always playing finals so can expect absolute full houses every week (they weren't this year). Have a few more years like 2023 and the crowds will drop off. Like absolutely every other team.

Oh great.
Always wanted to go to Darwin with the family, however of all days they schedule our game, it’s on my wife’s birthday.
Spending a night at the footy would not be her birthday choice :(
Can you make a weekend or a long weekend of things as a birthday surprise, and put an ** in there that part of the time way is a couple of hours at the footy, but the rest of the time is things she wants to do?

The Facebook comments on the post about the Darwin game are doing my head in. The social team put our logo first and all of a sudden the mouth breathers think we are selling a home game.

Takes 2 seconds to click the link and read the first sentence saying it's a GC home game

Just wait for the most recent comments - apparently we're playing GC in Darwin as Hardwick won't travel to Geelong should it be our home game, and if GC is scheduled to travel south then there'll be bitching in the media about it

Like seriously - Hardwick complained more about home games at Marvel then he did about an away game in Geelong like 6 years ago. It was "journos" like Caroline Wilson complaining about that situation

Yes they were, when visiting Victoria for a couple of games I found it near impossible to get tickets without a membership.

At least I will be spared the embarrassment of sitting through another RD3 OR 4 game at Carrara where we seldom fire a shot.

I get the feeling we’ll be interstate for Round 2 anyway considering we’re reportedly at home first up and Round 3 is Easter Monday (albeit a Hawks home game).

Speaking of the latter, if we get Hawthorn twice then I’d fully expect the return game to be at GMHBA. No reason why our usual bogus MCG home game against them can’t be moved down the highway while they’re mired in the bottom half of the ladder. Same goes for the Tiggers.

Is Hawthorn still selling home games to Tassie?

If we double up against them then I'd expect our home game to be at the MCG, because in past years our MCG "home" game against them has been used as a replacement game for their Melbourne members to gain attendance to

They’re awfully quick to demand that other clubs make up their shortfall of MCG games whilst simultaneously reaping the benefits that come with their Tassie deal (both on and off the field), aren’t they? Just about sums up their mentality as a club - want to have their cake and eat it too. 🤪

When I seen the fixture out for us playing in Darwin I quickly jumped on to see how much flights are
$800 return, is that normal for Darwin?
Never been and slowly ticking off watching the cats in every stadium I can.

Like f I’ll be paying that, prefer to pay the same amount and watch the game in Bali

The last time I flew to Darwin was for Easter March 2016 - I booked on the 11th to fly out on the 24th, and the total cost return from Melbourne was $906

Things have gone up a bit since then though
