No reason to think he doesn’t have the tank to play HF. I’d much prefer to use his natural talents forward, than embed him in defensive roles that he’s not suited to.

See that new kid for the suns over The weekend? Can’t recall his name but he is lightning quick and can spear pass to leading forwards.

This is similar to what I see Williams doing in our side. Basically a ball delivering specialist to forwards on a lead.

Scored a goal himself and 4 goal assists which he “gift wrapped for his leading forwards”. That’s how it was described in an article.

Apparently this style of play is something that Hardwick pioneered at tiggies and looks like he’s found his potential weapon at the suns.

I like the idea trying Charlie as high as the wing on occasion during a game. If he’s being double teamed - let him roam, use his talents to create some amazing inside 50s. TDK forward when he does.

TDK gives us the opportunity to try this out.

Williams was in the team when Saad was playing and the other 2 put pressure on Kemp and young I feel...none of them impact owies.

I'd say Frampton will stay back on deepest forward either Charlie or H - doubtful will follow him up. Howe may attempt to cover H up the ground with Moore that player in between the wing & full back for cover/intercept.

Yup Frampton and/or Howe to legally/illegally grapple Charlie or H while Moore gets a free run at it.
(and yucked up about what a rare talent he is...)

Makes spotting up other forwards super important while the separation also highlights infringements in F50.
Minimise shallow uncontrolled or contested entries.

Williams won us the game against freo with a half fwd play.

Agree but perhaps still on the improve due to being out with his lti?

Wrong end of the ground. Most of the scoring opportunities start at the other end and the easy transition is caused because players such as Owies, Cottrell, etc. don't contribute more than 1 tackle a game and don't find or win the ball at ground level. The way Geelong were coming out of their backline was embarrassing and if it wasn't for our midfield dominance, we wouldn't be in that match.

Yeah no doubt. But I have to admit I found some of his efforts on Saturday a bit troubling. I'll back him in to make up for it on Friday night.

Ollie struggling, why not Zac to the wing? Does he have the tank though? Agree, his delivery to forwards is a plus.

He tore Pies apart as a mid in a final, I like omens too.

I dont want Zac dropped either - but our defence is leaking, and he was loose against Cats, and Giants (and Crows? can’t remember).. we were getting sliced through in that Giants game too (so, 3 weeks in a row) until 6 minutes of beast mode by Cripps & Walsh saved that one
- the Defence needs to be far more tight & accountable to loose players getting overlap at the flanks and easy marks i50;
Cincotta seems to make sense

and,
Zac has attacking traits that we need at HF/middle, kicking into our forwards (and also kicking some goals himself )

Bang on. Only time we’ve played with the intesity of last year is in that qtr v GWS. If we have that intent we win despite the outs.

But, there’s one player we’re missing. The fog. We play different when hes on the feild. He adds more than the sum of his stats. He sets the tone. He was one of the ins around the start of our run last year and i dont think thats coincidence.

Yes Fog,Saad & McGovern have been really cruel long-term injuries because each offers something very unique that cannot be duplicated.... At pre-season so many of the carlton players were hinting that Motlop was the one who is about to have a Breakout year and I think he would have been easily our most potent small forward.... I'm surprised that Chincotta wasn't selected last week because his output is almost guaranteed aggressive and able to do the role with more versatility given that he has been playing in the midfield in the reserves...Binns needs to work on his AFL body because ATM he is way too slight

Charlie needs to get on his bike and use his athleticism, not stay rooted deep trying to wrestle his opponents.
If he continues to do this it will confirm my suspicions that he is carrying an injury of some sort.

I don't like having a go at any of our troops but can't help thinking that Young's a liability that we just can't afford atm. Why not bring Cincotta in for Young - he's much tougher in the contest and would provide plenty of dash off HB - two things that Youngy does not give us? And with Saady out for at least another month these attributes will be invaluable to us in that time where we have to play so many top sides. Also: height shouldn't be too much of a problem seeing as though the Pies aren't that tall in attack, so again, I think Cincotta would be a much better option for us right now.

Generally Weitering plays on Mihocek. If that is the case you would need Young/Durdin to play on Cox/Cameron. Would be a waste playing Weitering on the ruckmen.
