Look, I'm as frustrated as anyone that the game ended up so close, but not sure it is right to say we were lucky to win this. From a different angle Richmond should consider themselves lucky that they got so close. We played some good footy tonight. Some terrible finishing made it closer than it should be.

We nearly lost it only because we couldn’t quite finish our plays. If curnow goes back(like he should have) and nails that goal from a set shot in the square and boys nails his and owies we win that by 3 goals plus.
And that’s without the 3rd quarter misses, we kicked 3.6! If that was 6.3 we win the game easy

Interesting decision to leave it so late and not swap out a less speedy player. With the Tiges 2 down on the bench.
I’m sure they know better that me but I always like the fresh fast legs.

I agree. There was a moment in there, when they just kicked the goal to put it within reach with about 7-8 minutes to go. We absolutely could not afford them winning the clearance. In that moment, he leaps over Nankervis and taps straight to Cripps, who wins it clear for us.

But that's somewhat my problem: if he can do that, why the * is he not doing it more often?

The other side of it is, that game is nowhere near that close if we win the clearances. Because we kept losing the taps - and not just losing them, allowing them first use and control - we ceded that part of the game to their midfielders around the ground; to me, it was a coaching choice from Voss to try and build our rebound game. We know what we can do with the ball when we're winning; let's build on how we play when our opponents turn it over.

There are any number of things TDK could've done to stop Nankervis dominating in the way he did, some of which require him to use his knee and genuinely seek to put a bit of fear into him. The refusal to do them mightn't have hurt us at the end of the game tonight, but it absolutely will hurt us at some point.

Just need some patience… He’s a 24yo ruck, trying to find his feet as a no1 ruck…

He’s held his own against 2 quality rucks in McInerney & Nankervis over the last 2 weeks…

Very happy with the win, some really good performances and plenty to work on, thought TDK was good but criticisms of his ruck craft are valid, really liked Harry and Carrol and whilst Kemps game is building, he’s prone to a bit of a brain fade.

A few players off the pace tonight, thought Cerra was poor and Kennedy, good to see Durdin picked but if you pick someone as the sub, they need to be able to have an impact. I’ve also been surprised by Holland first two games, looks to be struggling a bit.

Our kicking for goal and delivery inside 50 was poor, plenty of improvement to be had and a great start to be 2-0

OK so like others here have said, with the earlier Charlie play on/tackle shenanigans on the goal line the umpire clearly said that if the bunker didn't overturn the goal umpire's call that it would be a free kick against Charlie. When the bunker referred to the umpire's call we had the point erroneously added, so although the scoreboard didn't change when Boyd kicked his behind, it should have already shown us with one less point than it did

Missed the comment from the umpire … ch7 too busy waffling on about Nick Reiwoldt..

Houli didn’t fast in season if I recall.. read an article where his imam said he has exemption due to the impeding impact it has on his profession.

He fasted but not when playing interstate. Some loophole about being a traveller.

bandwagon last year have found their man in Carroll. Only two games but is giving us everything everyone hoped Dow would have.

The way he's playing he'll be extremely difficult to dislodge from his place in the 22(23).

Short turnaround after having to Harry Houdini ourselves on the toughest travel in our game 46 down late into the second last week.
Umps were atrocious in the first, 4 Tiges goals from very very questionable calls.
The boys looked like they’d played half a season, not round two.
I’m starting to warm to the fact that this actually was a great win, being that ugly wins from good teams mean just as much to the playing group and coaches.
What do you learn from big wins?
Nada, zilch.
But after lasts weeks monumentous effort, we looked like it was the 5th quarter all night.
TDK simply refused to be beaten for 4 quarters, Brackets kept cool, Kempy did the sublime and the benny hill theme tune in minutes, Saad, Lewis and Psycho held their end of the bargain up.
That was a great win.
Let’s just remember where we’ve been the last two decades, yeah.
This bunch of blokes want what you campaigners want more than you can ever dream of, it’s been their dream more than you can ever dream, I reckon they’re us taking there!
Just ****ing enjoy it ffs!
