Was he anchored to a KPD role last year? Looked like a typical half back flanker to me.
Unless Hinge follows Dawson into becoming an inside mid, or we get smacked by injuries, I doubt there is that much improvement in Hinge left. His numbers were very good last year, we do have a fair bit of outside depth - seeing Milera and Smith are his running mates and Dawson also tends to double up as a half back flanker when the need arises - and we are already a very dangerous side on the outside.
It's quite likely he's close to the ceiling for what a lad can do in our current system.

I thought last year was his breakout year.
He and Milera killed it, both were a big reason we looked great running off half back.

Amazing how we still have the least 100 game players. Up until the last few years under Nicks the yo-yo’ing of young players was a disgrace and still has an enduring impact on our profile.

Who has the oldest list, who has the youngest, and which club has the most experience heading into 2024?
Amazing how we still have the least 100 game players. Up until the last few years under Nicks the yo-yo’ing of young players was a disgrace and still has an enduring impact on our profile.
Even if Nicks played a 2020 draftee for every game of their career, they would not have 100 games by this point.
This certainly supports the notion that we did cut too deep with burning our list. More so then yo-yoing kids or anything else.
At the start of last year we had Four 100+ game players. This year we start with Eight which you correctly identified as the equal lowest in the AFL (with North Melbourne).List analysis: Where your club ranks for age and experience

Which of YOUR best 23 players could have reached 100+ games if it wasn’t for the yo-yoing of Nicks?

Worrell?

Most of these players have been at the AFC for 3 seasons or less. It’s hard to rack up 100 games in two or three season.
Or do you mean we should have given more games to Berry, Schoenberg, Borlase, Parnell, Sholl, Hamill, McHenry, Bond, Dowling, Himmelberg? Not to mention future superstar Tariek Newchurch.
Imho the players who could/should have been given more games over the last three years (based on watching all the SANFL games).
1) Worrell; I was a fan from Day 1 but he was regularly killed by both tall and small forwards in the SANFL in his first two seasons. I would have played him a bit earlier than Nicks.
2) Nankervis; Similar story, showed great signs but needed to build up his body.
3) Gollant; He is AFL ready but Walker, Fogarty and Thilthorpe are in front of him.
Berry and Schoenberg played plenty of games in their first two year but have regressed and no one was suggesting that they should return to the AFL until late last season with Schoenberg.
Very few from the 2021 draft have played more games than Rachelle or Soligo, no one played more games than Michaelanney from the 2023 draft.

He did it for half a season so not a lot of external accolades. And still a bit to prove that that is his consistent kevel
He doesn’t need to take another step, but do that for 22 games and this year will be seen as his breakout by those who don’t follow us as close as those here do (for us it will be the proof/solidification)
By my rough count we have 17 players between 50 and 100 games currently, so in two years we should have one of the highest counts of 100+game players. Obs we'll lose some of the current 8 and obs all 17 wont get two full seasons of games but we'll have a large group all coming through together.List analysis: Where your club ranks for age and experience
