Look at our 30's & under...
McAdam; Salem; Billings; Petracca; Langers; Lever???; Hore; Fritsch;

Only Tracca, and Langers are earning they're keep, as far as I'm concerned.

The leadership will be non-existant in two years... and only our young'uns will be left to try to steer a way-wood ship.

Our current 25Yr-Olds are better for depth... starting with Petty at 25Yrs.

And many of this group are limited in what they can deliver.
everyone in the competition is limited in what they can deliver.

If you only want players with very few limitations the whole AFL would have 3-4 guys in it.

Silvagni turns 28 this year though. I thought you wanted young players? IMO we're fine for key backs as along as Petty goes back there. Next year we could have Petty, Turner and Howes as our trio of tall backs,
See... at 28Yrs of age, and as free agents who can actually play at the senior level of AFL

add in the possibility of Derksen too, and Lever as the older leader. Tall backs are fine, no need to pay over a million for a very average 194cm back in Salvagni.

This year's draft is trash, and this is a team we could field next year with ONLY current 25 and unders (a few NQRs marked):

B: McVee, Petty, Howes
HB: AMW, Turner, Bowey
C: Lindsay, Rivers, Culley
HF: Chandler, JVR. Kozzy
F: Henderson, Kentfield, Sharp
R: Heath, Windsor, Langford
IC: Derksen, Tholstrup, Mentha, Sparrow

Add in a small forward and a flexible mid in the 22-25 year old age group and that's a really solid group IMV.

I see Petty going back, as going backwards... he's not that great as a defender imv... just capable.

Where he is about our only player who can take a pack-mark deep forward, or up the field around the flanks and wings. When we lose Maxy G... we will lose all our down the line marking power.

We've been blessed with Maxy, not because of his ruck contests, but his taking marks thru the midfield... back-line and pushing forward for a mismatch.

Morris reporting Trac is open to Sydney, GC or Adelaide also. Interstate teams.
I'd quite frankly be stunned if he wants to live in SA. Would be pretty surprised if it's GC, too (even though I don't buy into this 'Brand Petracca' bs that people use to discredit him). Sydney I could see.

Anyway, the more potential destinations, the better (if he wants to leave).

If true, that’s fantastic news Trac’s open to interstate clubs. Opens the possibilities of trade compensation.

Suns make most sense IMO. Flanders and pick 7 has gotta be pretty simple and fair, no?

If it’s the Crows, I’d go super hard at Rachelle but they probably won’t let him go unless he begs to get out. So maybe their current and future F1 picks (both likely to be very late in the first round).

Swans are intriguing. They won’t let their big 4 or 5 go. Logan McDonald?

It’s probably not true though

I mean, at least he's a free agent, but I can't get overly enthusiastic about the idea
I'm fine with it as a cash splash as long as it's a short contract. Bit of support for JVR. Not like it's going to hurt anyone's development.

Mihocek is a long time fave of mine but the cliff looked very close the longer the season went on.

Happy to have him but it’d have to be fairly cheap.

At worst he might show our forwards the value of leading toward ls the ball carrier.

I know he's the exception but Gunston looked cooked as the past couple of years.
