Rumour going around that Bailey Humphrey may request a trade. There was an article where the Suns were adamant he wasn't being traded, but I hope we try and convince him if personal reasons are prompting the move.

• Hawks send Pick 8, CJ to Carlton
• Suns send Humphrey to Hawks
• Suns send Pick 13 to Blues
• Blues send Curnow to Suns

Hawks get Humphrey.
Suns get Curnow.
Blues get Pick 8, Pick 13, CJ.

Let me improve that & assume Suns are keeping Humphrey & trading Flanders, add Suns pick 6 & Blues F2 to equation
Hawks get Trac + Suns F2 ( give - CJ, F1, Pick 26)
Suns get Curnow + 26 ( give - Flanders, Pick 6, 13, F2)
Blues get CJ, Pick 6, Hawks F1, Demons F2 ( give - Curnow)
Demons get Flanders + Pick 13 ( give - Trac, F2)

Suns seem to be doing well here and the 26 can be taken off them and given to someone else who gives a lower pick to Suns.

We keep Pick 8, Worps compo & fringe players who can be traded for 2nd and 3rd round picks

PS : if we insist to overpay, we will find hard to get both. if we hold firm, we can get both our targets and more.

As a club we are ruthless in pursuing our end game..
We are in our premiership window now and we need to replenish our stocks in the midfield...
What we currently have, including the guys who played at BH Hawk for the majority of the year, will not cut it against Geelong and Brisbane...
We are into both Merret and Petracca big time...guaranteed on that front...
Merret for his leadership qualities on field and Petracca for his clearances..
Whether we land both is not for a lack of trying from our behalf...
Guaranteed we will land one of the names mentioned...
Now, we must be prepared to give up picks and first rate players...
How all this plays out will be the conundrum...
As we all know, clubs especially the scum despise us...
Coming from the corporate world, this is a fact...they despise us, due to the fact we are successful off-field in how we manage and govern our organisation, I can attest to that first hand...

So, please people, be patient with the best club in the land do its due diligence in acquiring the missing pieces for our next few premierships...

I don't get this! He had his foot trod on in a contest which can happen anywhere on the ground. Taking our best mid out of the midfield doesn't make sense to me.

I dunno why (I'm probably reading too much into it) but I think the foot being trod on was a smoke screen for what was actually an unfortunate issue where Day's foot still couldn't handle the load.

Hopefully with a full rest and a monitored preseason he will be back to his best.

I think it's more serious than simply having his foot trod on - he's had multiple foot injuries now, similar injuries have plagued Hogan this season (he suffered the initial injury years ago) and have cut careers short. They are notoriously difficult to manage.

There are a few physio's and other posters on here that are better placed at explaining the management and potential issues, I'll acquiesce to them on this.

Newmo89 suggested that this is the plan for Day next season. Of any of the posters on here he's probably the one with his finger closest to the pulse.
