4 games to go. If we'd said this at the start of the year, we'd say he's gone. We said if he's not signed by the bye, he's gone. Then after the game, we said if not signed this week, he's gone. Unfortunately I think we're living in denial. He is gone.

Thing is no one knows anything.

TPP is changing that much that anyone out of contract around this time is looking at a rather hefty bump regardless.

24-25 = 15mil to 17mil base TPP.

So you see that 2 mil increase and you want as big a pie as you can get, if you're a player manager advocating for the best deal for your client. It's just the way of business.

Then you have the footy media side of it, who then see the brief "so and so is out of contract, so and so is chatting to that guy" and the like and instead of just reporting that they shook hands and made lewd gestures and laughed, joe public gets "this guy meeting with powerbrokers in dark alley, signs contract worth 5 million on a taco shell, some pigeon went and absconded with it.." for people to lose their collective minds.

Fact of the matter is players are contracted until the end of October, until such a time that that contract runs out football is the focus and managers exist to produce the best deal for their clients. Period.

Everything else is opinionated nonsense, most of it accredited by some manner of agency cause they have a badge that says so and focused on something called journalism when it really should have been spewing crap incessantly so that people listen.

This. Nas, his manager and the club are all acutely aware of the stress and anxiety that this situation is causing St Kilda fans and it would have been done months ago if he was going to stay. No homesick star players end up signing after July.

Oh well it was good while it lasted hey, hopefully they release a dvd of last Sunday’s game and we can play it on repeat.

Living in denial is a cornerstone of being a saints supporter.

Critical a offseason as ever.

Leek and De Kooning are in the correct age bracket. A bit of cap yes but you would think we would be able to accomodate it. Surely we have the flexibility to front end them so as to not handicap us in future.

Windy is an important signing. He sets high standards on the track and these are the type of players I would like to reward.

Nas obviously important and that goes without saying. A lot to get right this offseason and plenty that could go wrong.

Hope the club can get it right.

We’re about to lose our main scoring avenues this off season, so no they won’t work it out & yes we’re in critical condition lol

From all reports NAS has great mates at the club, we are offering up to $1.5 mill a year for him to stay, giving him the option of a 2 year deal at what is believed to be at his request and now we are looking at bringing in his first cousin for a spot on the playing list so he has family alongside him.

What more can we do? We are leaving no stone unturned, outside of moving the club to Adelaide there’s literally nothing more we can do. If this isn’t enough then I guess he was never staying.

I dont know what Max King has been doing this year, but one would hope hes been in the gym working on achieving a physique equal to or surpassing that of Riley Thilthorpe.

Knowing our luck, he'll come back with the same beard and thats it.
Probably dislocate that jaw of his in the process of growing such weighty facial hair 🙄

Just imagine how much of a F**k SOS would be at the trade table if it got that far 😂😂

The guy who delisted Membrey and gave Billings to Melbourne for a future third rounder while paying his wage?

So much of this doesn’t make sense to me. He signs the first extension when he was on the verge of leaving. Since then he has developed incredibly close friendships with the playing group, has a great relationship with the senior coach, by all reports loves the club itself (which he grew up around), we have developed him into possibly the best player in the game with the world at his feet and a game plan set up around him. Then just when he is on the precipice of repaying the enormous amount of effort we have put into setting up his career (Wood, Hill, Auntie Katrina etc) he requests as trade to a team on the precipice of a huge cliff who has next to nothing to give us in return. The worst possible place he could request a trade to. Completely screwing us. By all reports is a great person well loved by the playing group, just doesn’t make sense.

It doesn’t even make sense for Port, they desperately need an influx of multiple young players over the next few years and they are gonna give it all up for one player. The only way they could satisfy something would be to trade Butters, but what’s the point of bringing in NAS just to trade your best player? Surely you bring in NAS to compete now. They would think a midfield of NAS, JHF and Butters is enough to compete no matter how bad it is around them. Dumb strategy.

Maybe there is something we don’t know about yet, some sort of family situation. Who knows, I hope not obviously. All logic points to him re-signing but why hasn’t he yet? Like a few on here I think the most likely outcome is a last minute signing on a 2 year deal when it becomes clear a trade isn’t happening. Which means this drags on until the end of the trade period…..

  • Hawks won the flag after Buddy left
  • Cats won a flag after GAJ left
  • We played off in a GF a couple of seasons after Plugger left
  • Crows made GF a couple of seasons after Danger left

I’ll do whatever it takes to convince myself it’s not the end of the world
so agree we will be well compensated -

so Agree with this we will be well compensated-i thought he would stay -but pretty sure he wants out now -I will say in the future I would be reluctant to draft a young interstate indigenous boy.

Peaheart ruck and a C grade project back who doesn't seem to be particularly promising. If we lose Nas and take these two we need new list managers.

Pay him $2 million to match the SA clubs.

The Hawks actually won another TWO flags after Buddy left. You’re right though it’s never about one player, if we’ve drafted well we should have enough. My only concern is the compensation coming back the other way, if Port or Adelaide had some early firsts I’d be fine with it but teens picks won’t get us a player close to Nas.

Hawks were a premiership side already. Hawks have acknowledged that no-one could catch up due to the draft concessions for GWS and GC which let them stay up longer than they would otherwise.

Losing elite players is not usually a model to list improvement. Those players happened to leave already very good lists.

All this plus an untried coach and the two-team town factor over in Adelaide. He wouldn't be able to take a shit without someone wanting an autograph or selfie. He looks too unassuming to want that sort of thing.

Then you've got our emerging list compared to Port. We all know the names.

The more I think about this, the more I think it'll be one of the worst decisions he could make as a footballer to sign up with Port rather than sign with us for another two years. I really do wonder about the advice he's getting from those people closest to him and if they truly have his best interests at heart if they're telling him to leave.

Saints aren't leaking it though. It would be his manager. Probably King Cuck both stories at once and 4chan boy did them as separate stories over a couple of days.
And both well after the events, so old “breaking news” Tommy really looks like an idiot.

I highly doubt his manager or Nas, actually, gives two stuffs about the fans.

Would’ve thought Nas might’ve re his teammates, friends and coach but it’s not exactly looking like that from afar.
