Owes us nothing, blame the systemThe real question is whether Nas will screw the club and force through a trade regardless of adequate compensation.…
100% brother nailed it , these young guys need to go get a real job work 60 - 70 hrs a week bust your ass ,rarely spend time with your family and miss out seeing your kids grow up just to provide 4 them . Spoiled ,entiled sooks. What is wrong with these grown men all being 'homesick' while getting paid millions of dollars to kick a football?
I find it incredible, they aren't being sent to the other side of the planet. You never hear soccer players demanding to be sent home from Europe or Asia because they are 'homesick'. Jesus Christ how much different is Perth to Brisbane or Melbourne to Adelaide?
What a load of baloney this homesickness rubbish is. Might have washed when they were getting 200k a year as a top contract, not when everything is a mill plus nowadays.
Funny how you never see rookies getting homesick if they are picked up and make it. Or MSD pick from.interstate.
As for Butters being homesick, have you ever been to Darley. Adelaide must be some almighty hellhole if thats the case.
Most cloistered, spoiled selfish footballers that there has ever been. Homesick. Tell that to FIFO worker with families who they see for a week a month or others struggling to make ends meet.
These current day footballers are really mumma's boys by the sounds.
But they are not. It is an excuse to get rich and play where they want under the constraints of the draft and trading rules.

If he did go to the preseason draft, he's going to Perth.I agree, it's not on us. All the Port supporters saying "walk him to the PSD", "uncontracted, his value drops" are delusional. Port are over a barrel too, they either need to send away Butters and Bergman or Berry to get 3-4 1st round DPs required for us and themselves, or rely on the AFL to waive the 4 year rule - which the AFL will only do if St Kilda are compensated adeqautely as a result.
Re: the destination, it's relevant to me as a fan processing this outcome and him as an opposition player.
If he's so keen to go home, and Port are barrelled as much as we are, why isn't Adelaide realistically spoken as an option then? The homesickness comes across as disingenuous if he's not actually entertaining the Crows as an option
Come back in two hours and we'll be celebrating he's staying. So sounds like we all think nas is leaving now. Bugger

Unreal, good luck.Hey Bill
I backed Nas at 500's after round 4 this year - mentioned it a couple of weeks back. was hoping he would get 50+ possies in the remaining games.
I think there was someone else as well that backed him at a similar number.
Cashout increasing by the game
How many international sports have a draft where they could be drawn away from their home?Funny how his cousin Tex who is struggling to get on an AFL list isn’t homesick and willing to play interstate for Port Melbourne…
Players are lucky the sport is only played in Australia, most other sports would have them a lot further away from home during their career.

Youre calling them international? Feels like a stretch.NBA, NFL have the same draft system.
How have you come to this conclusion? This forum has gone absolutely insane.Ross's presser and Nas's interview, just doesn't look at all like he's staying.
It's so painful because we clearly need him, and have done so much to try and keep him.
We should be speaking to Butters management and working out what it'll take for him to pull the trigger on a move a year early, because if that doesn't happen our club is getting absolutely screwed in a trade.
Players don't need to stay in the AFL system, if they don't like the rules involved. Not for nothing, but it doesn't matter why a player wants to move. A player can move for whatever reason they like. A lot of this stuff feels a lot like the Harry/Meaghan stuff: very distasteful and something that belongs to a long ago time.
NBA, NFL, NHL for startersHow many international sports have a draft where they could be drawn away from their home?

Throw MLB in there too but id note that US culture with regards to moving and the college pathways system is VASTLY different to Australia and the AFL. They also get remunerated way way more than we do and most of those players wind up paying for families and support networks to just come with them.
