The whole situation is just absolutely bizarro from offering TDK 1.7m a year, to building our list strategy around our young core but then low balling the two best u/22 talents we’ve had since the 2000’s, to now seeing Nas manager leak to the media and posture, only to presumably expect that the club works in good faith in over a few weeks to broker a deal with two clubs that don’t have anything remotely close to adequate capital.

As much as I have zero interest in following footy the coming year if Nas leaves, the whole situation has been done to death ad-nauseum, and Nas can either sign the deal at 1.5m/year across the two years + incentives or request a trade to SA and run the risk of the likeliest outcome of going to the draft/PSD.

Posturing, leaking to the media, the delay tactics, etc doesn’t exactly get a club working with you in good faith to broker a trade.

I’ve stopped checking my phone for Nas updates and resigned to the possibility he no longer wants to be with the club, and I’ve never felt better throughout this whole ordeal.

It was fairly obvious last week. Who else would be leaking to the media that the club and pres had Nas, his team, and family over to Bassat’s a few months ago and it didn’t go down well with Nas. The club clearly aren’t leaking that.

Honestly if Nas leaves I might be done. Best player we've drafted in two decades, 22yo becomes completely elite mid who looks like he can play in any area of the ground and do anything and he's going to leave? Feel like we may as well give up if this is the case.

Why?

Theyre trying to build a premiership list which means retaining the good parts of the list and bringing in players to help that.

They will want to retain butters and get nas.

Theyre about to try and **** us and get nas for picks in shit drafts and hold butters.

We should be holding nas but instead we've tried to be all conservative with the cap and shy with money whilst we let the likes of tdk help him self.

Exactly what evidence is this statement based on?

I love how no-one knows anything, but there is a cohort on here who can speak with absolute certainty to the fact that our list management team have undoubtedly ****ed this up beyond measure!!!

Yeah but he's not shitting down anyone's throat if Port make a mediocre offer, we have a hissy fit, and then he goes into the PSD. No-one except supporters will think badly of him, his mates certainly won't.

We don't need to have a hissy fit. If port make an offer that is generally seen as adequate (unlikely), then we probably have to accept it. But if the offer is clearly not adequate, then his next move will define him.

He doesn't act like he has a problem with the St Kilda Football Club, so why would he risk the psd rather than signing for two years?

IMO his manager has told him that he can get to port with no drama, but if he can't then there's huge money at the Saints anyway. Nas doesn't need to do anything but watch it all play out. As long as we don't lose our shit it's another 2 years at least.
