What was the last Rucci breaking news on the saints?

Answer: Nothing.

He hasn’t written or broken news directly about us before.

John Ralph is also running it though? Even threw in Cal being "bemused" at Aleer's contract.
And Ralphy's article seemed to be speaking from a Saints perspective

With respect to, someone as clever as Wilkie is not just a player. He is a super integral player who is as informed as anyone.

Then he’d know it’s important to try and improve your list in order to go somewhere and that sport isn’t socialism. They don’t all have to earn the same. In fact, sometimes a little sacrifice is required to acieve the ultimate.

We’ve had a war chest for years, only now has a top target wanted to actually join us.

We don’t have the luxury of the big clubs working within the wage bill, we needed to try something different and I’m for it.

Plain old boring St Kilda for 15 years have gone absolutely no where, let’s make some moves and rattle cages.

There are players at the club who are unhappy about the offers being proposed to bring in TDK & Aleer. This is fact.

Wilkie (albeit a little pissed) is not interested in leaving, but understandably is having people throw offers at him and we will probably have to extend him beyond 2027 on better coin.

The club seems to be in a transition period where the tail is trying to wag the dog. It doesn’t. Some sticking their hand out because the club are trying to improve and win a premiership, with THIS group. A few entitled young men who need to appreciate their position.

Do you reckon they'd be as discontented if the players coming in were a Luke Jackson and a Tom Barrass for example (i.e players you could reasonably justify spending the $1.7 & 750k on respectively)?

TDK and Aleer have been so bloody ordinary, so I can imagine a world where our senior players would be arcing up a little

Ralph’s article effectively squashes a lot of the noise. Far from the negativity proposed by Edmund/Rucci.

Acknowledges that some noses in general will be out of joint because it’s about getting into premiership contention.

If I were a player competing for the same positions, I’d be pissed too, if any of those numbers are true.
TDK is no better than Marshall, and Aleer is probably no better than Caminiti.
It’s a shitload of money to spend, and honestly, I don’t see it improving our list that much.

Taura cannot play enough games this year to make him ineligible for next year.

And the rule in the prior year is a lot less than 20. 10.

Yep the outside flashy things are taking way too much interest.

TDK I understand he's 25 and has the potential to be an elite ruck but if Aleer who is basically a junior burger gets allured to us with the promise of senior footy there's no world where he should be paid the same as an All Australian full back just to get the deal over the line.

Getting so sick of this shit now, SOS has a monumental task to get us safely through this otherwise his head needs to roll

A few of us here have tried to make that point over and over, only to be scoffed at.

I’ve said from the start, we’re dealing with human nature. It’s a very rare individual that is unaffected by what his/her colleagues are earning if it becomes known.

Yet some have this expectation that because they’re playing for the sporting club we follow, they’ll be immune to that. It’s an absolutely ridiculous and unrealistic point of view.

It’s not like they are all taking a pay cut to play with Buddy or Dusty either. You are taking a hit so that they can pay a couple of project players to be better paid than the actual stars. If I’m Windy I’m thinking I’m on par with TDK and twice as good as Aleer. Why should I stay playing for less.
